In an ongoing attempt to get OH interested in cooking, 'we' made cassolette (fish pie ) of cod, prawns and mussels in white wine sauce, topped with mashed potato. Served with fresh broad beans donated by a neighbour :wub2: OH lost interest after cutting up the fish and wandered off to check that the PC hadn't died of neglect after 10 minutes of inactivity :roflol: Don't think Gordon Ramsay need worry....

Yesterday I did some simple cooking with salmon fillets pan fried in butter, roasted new potatoes that were first boiled with a chicken stock cube in the water (just gives a slight flavour to the spuds) with French beans served with melted butter.

Rhubarb and custard later in the evening.

Today I have just made chicken liver pate which we shall have for a light lunch together with some red onion chutney (one I made earlier :heehee:) made with muscovado sugar and balsamic vinegar.

Tonight will be roast beef with roast spuds (always use King Edward potatoes with roast beef or chicken) and sliced and stir fried Brussels done with lightly browned and thinly sliced onion and a touch of garlic.

Gluten free apple crumble made from home grown Warner's King apples.

Roast turkey and sage and onion stuffing made with sausages and breadcrumbs. Potatoes, cabbage, peas, sprouts and broccoli with gravy.
Pudding, bread and butter pudding. I use spices and brown sugar, usually don't have spices with this pudding.

Made a couple of nice wraps for lunch with chicken from last night and fresh salad from the allotment. Also made some burgers for tonight. Added chopped chorizo to a couple of them for chorizo burgers

Last night's burgers (veal and pork mixed with garlic, herbs and an egg to bind) were delicious so I might do them again one day.

Tonight it's roast leg of lamb which I shall bone then cut off a portion for another meal such as rogan josh. I have new potatoes form Noirmoutier and there'll be other veg followed by strawberry and rhubarb cobbler.

Chicken livers are as rare as hen's teeth here @shiney and when I do find them the'yre part cooked and sous-vide. We used to have them quite a lot in Belgium as a warm chicken liver salad with a few lardons but, if I see any again, I shall try a pâté instead.

So, not only don't hens have teeth but they don't have livers either!

So it would seem. Can't remember the last time I bought a chicken with giblets. Maybe the 80s?

I try to buy lambs kidneys but they are not always available, I went into a butchers shop once and asked and he said I only sell them to my regular customers.
                      Never went there again.

Sorry to change it to veg but we have loads of flowers with squashes and pumpkins.
Having looked at recipes I have ended up not sure what is the best way to "stuff" them. We have had them in Crete many times but never asked how it was done.
Any help much appreciated as I would like to do something different for a dinner on Saturday, not the whole meal but part of it.
