    Not for me.
I have Rosa mundi which keeps me happy. It is ready to pop its buds any time now to join Gertrude Jeykyll and Harlow Carr which are in full flower. The scent from all is wonderful, which is why I choose which roses to have in my garden.

Hello to be fair it could be any King as its named "The Kings Rose" ;) but I shall rely on my Queen Elizabeth Rose to to provide the scent and its beauty which it has done for 20 years now:smile:

I do have Elizabeth from DA a few years ago and she is lovely, elegant and sweetly scented.

In the programme last night, David Austin jnr drew attention to "Eustacia Vye". I highly recommend that one. Very healthy and flowering like mad in my garden. Lovely perfume as well .

The new one is a seriously ghastly colour, IMVHO. I will not be joining any waiting list ...

@wiseowl , here is my "Eustacia Vye", photos taken yesterday. CIMG2189.JPG

                CIMG2190.JPG

It looks predominately pink, but there is an apricot hue as well, difficult for my old camera to pick up it would seem.

I also like those varied coloured roses @Butterfly6, they tend to be open flowered so good for pollinators.

I used to have a Ferdinard Pichard, the first flush of flowers was lovely but repeat flowering very poor.

I do like red + white roses and several years ago put in Nostalgia, after admiring its flowers in the rose garden in Regent's Park. Here are a couple of photos, taken just now - I like the bronzey foliage, too. Strong habit of growth, not much scent, but flowers early till late.

I'm not keen on the stripy effect. I don't like Rosa mundi either, but I can see the appeal for those who like that look and want a repeat-flowering version.

It's not a rose for me but it's bright and cheerful and I think it will be popular. I like loud colours but never been a fan of marbled variegation.

I have moved increasingly to buying open centred roses as they're good for pollinators so I like that aspect of this rose but I could never bring myself to buy clematis Prince Charles - Blue Angel is similar and prettier in my view anyway - and I don't see me buying a King's rose named for him. All his ecology stuff is fine but otherwise his personality leaves little to admire.

If I do ever go stripey with roses it'll be a rosa mundi.

I inherited a garden containing a 'Prince Charles' clematis, and it's lovely, so I'm happy to keep it despite the name. After all, I detest my own name, but I'm not planning on digging myself up for the sake of it...

I don't really care for "The King's Rose", it looks too feminine for the king. Rosa Mundi is OK because of it's wonderful scent. The main difference between the two is that Rosa Mundi is only summer flowering and The King's Rose repeat flowers.
