Any ideas what these are worth?

I have run a charity plant sale for many years. One of my regular supporters has given me a Clivia and 2 huge peace Lilies to sell, proceeds will go to charity.
I do not do house plants! I am usually death to them and they hold no interest so would like to sell them asap before I kill them.
The Clivia has another flower appearing and there are still some flowers to come on the Peace Lilies.
I am hoping they can live outside( Scotland on a sheltered patio) until I find buyers for them.
I have given all of the plants a drink with some coffee grounds in the water. No idea if this is the wrong thing to have done? One of the Peace Lilies looks a bit droopy so not sure if this is lack of water or too much water, as I said house plants and I are not “a match made in heaven”.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Ps tv remote in photos to show size.

Hi @hailbopp I have a clivia living in a greenhouse that is only just frost free over winter, so outside should be fine now. They're gross feeders but very tolerant - I saw them kept in fairly dark rooms in Germany. The one I keep in house on north windowsill does flower more though. They are slow to get going (seed from hotel in Sorrento!) but doubt if you could charge a lot unless it's in flower.

Thanks Caroline, there is another flower appearing so will try and sell it when in flower. Do you think maybe ask a tenner for it? I’m clueless as to the value of any of them.

Its worth what somebody will give you!
If you have a mixed stall, how do you arrange it/price each item.? Some of the best i have seen zone price;ie place assorted plants in areas of a table by price, which increase back towards the vendor. Yoiu can always rezone if required to clear towards the end. That plant, try for £15 initially, easier to come down than go up !

Peace lilies would need full shade outside. They might be dropping a bit if they were previously indoors, due to the sudden change in brightness. They are inexpensive to buy, so even though those are large specimens, I would have thought £5-7 each would be about right.

I've also seen it done with coloured stickers or coloured plant labels.

Thanks, I run the plant sale every early spring from my home and sell huge numbers of plants from my greenhouse, 1E0B523C-F7E0-4E1E-8FDC-E43FC6FF708D.jpeg
this is about 1/10 of what I sell. I send out lists of over 100 different varieties with prices. Most plants are in the £3 to £7 range and this year I raised over £6000 so it goes well and I know the value of the different plants. These are different, clueless, and just these to sell.
I will try advertising the Clivia once it starts to flower for £15 and offer the huge Peace Lilies for £15 the pair and see if anything happens. Hopefully I won’t have killed them before I find new homes!

Peace Lilies are survivors, in my experience. They can bounce back from near death, have their roots divided with some force without blinking, and live in pots way too small for their bulk without complaint. ;)

Not just Right Plant, Right Place but also Right Plant, Right Owner. I think £15 may be pushing it a bit but at least you can always barter if someone shows enough interest. Much better to accept less than risk it dying on you before your next plant sale.
Well done on raising that amount so far this year :star::star:

I put my red Clivia outside from its overwintering position in the cold porch.
It immediately got scorched, my fault, I wasn't expecting the sun to be as strong as it is, and that was last month.

So put them in the shade somewhere, then they will still look good for sale.

I dont think many people realise the amount of work that goes on in getting some plants to flowering size, we live in a throw away society.

I hope you can get the asking price but for some reason people think they can barter, they dont do it at a garden centre.
              And their prices are astronomical.

Label them as ‘star plants’ or ‘home to the most generous offer’?? For charity I think £10-20 is acceptable.

Perhaps it could also be a deciding factor if a prospective buyer had an interest in the charity involved ? May be inclined to pay more for that reason alone ?

Thanks all. I am really lucky because the vast majority of people who come to the sale and turn out religiously every year are so nice and many have become friends over the years. The sale runs very well as I do actually know my plants and all I sell with a few exceptions are easy to grow and happy with our less than kind, at times, climate.
These flaming plants do not fit what I normally sell at all but will advertise the Peace Lilies tomorrow and hopefully someone will take them off my hands. I collect for about 8 different animal charities ranging from working equines down to hedgehogs and all sorts in between!

We found our clivia in the local woods where it had been dumped. They are such an easy plant to look after and ours spends the winter in an unheated lean to, where it has been for a decade.
They used to be quite expensive and the yellow coloured ones do still add a premium but the orange ones are cheaper. I looked on the burncoose website Clivia Miniata from Burncoose Nurseries and they start at around £15 for what I think is a similar size.
