Hi guys,I have 2 aggas potted in John Innes No3. They are fed with chempak 4 on a weekly basis, not over watered or underwatered. Roots are not mushy. I've had a UV lamp on them for a month as I thought they were struggling. Their roots are getting towards the edges of their pots.
What next? I've had enough .
    Please help. Cheers.

Get rid of the UV lamp, stop feeding and let them get on with growing normally.

Could be a year or two before you get flowers, they are not a plant for anyone who is a bit impatient.

      Welcome Italics.jpeg Matt

I have never babied mine. They live in clay crammed between rocks in my rockery.

I've had them a year already, they weren't juveniles when I bought them last year, that's why I thought they were struggling ‍♂️.

        Hi

name of variety will help , some flower earlier than others

were they 9 cm pots ? They are slow to start , and small plants do take several years to settle in.
This is one plant if you want quick impact it’s all to do with size the bigger the better

Just keep in a sunny spot and in a frost free greenhouse over winter.
Mine get blood fish and bone early April and a occasionally tomato feed during the summer

The smaller agapanthus is in a pot that looks plenty big enough for it, the larger one doesn't look too bad.
I've grown a number over the years, I think the one I grew from seed took 4 to 5 years to flower.
The one I bought last year in flower I don't expect it to flower again for another year or two as it was from a nursery and had probably been brought on to be in flower for the summer. The other one took a couple of years to flower after it had been split.
Mine are all in the garden year round. Does depend on the variety and what your winters are like.

Not expecting instant results, but they're not much bigger after a year.

From your pics it almost looks like you have put 2 plants in each pot or is that just the way they have come up this year ?

Agree with @pete you are givng them too much care, though when watering do so the whole pot gets fully drenched as they way yours look now you have a dried area around the top edge of the pot, so possibly deeper down there may be some areas left too dry ?

We would just put them out of site but in a sunny and sheltered spot and just go round and give them a good soak once a week and let them do their thing, as we found they do take about a year to settle in after moving / repotting etc.

Usually they wont flower in pots until they are fairly much potbound, so they needd to fill the pot with roots, dont overfeed, once a month through the summer with a high potash feed would be plenty I would say.

After that its a waiting game until they flower, but they dont look like the pots are full enough yet for them to flower to me, first picture looks like three crowns and the second only two, possible that they could flower this year but not easy to say.
Still fairly early in the season for agapanthus.
