        A majority of orchids here are stunted due to just one day's .rain in the last 5 weeks.

          I remember learning about this in my Botany A level school lessons. I've never seen it in real life, so it's interesting to see a picture of it growing in the wild.

          My cousin has these in his lawn and he lives in the centre of a city. He thinks they were on the land there before they built the houses. He mows them away.

              The drought here has produce some spindly Bee orchids but some decent Pyramidal are coming up.

                Just one spike this year of this Wasp orchid Ophrys apifera Trollii still classed as a Bee variant.

                  Again you people who are able to take such stunning photos of wildflowers in the UK must make a record of them. So many plants are lost but you are showing that we still have so many fabulous wildflowers for us to enjoy. Wish we could see them in reality but love your photos.
