Unknown and unwieldy red climber. I am going to remove the ivy and holly tree that’s growing on the wall behind this lovely rose and fix it properly to the wall in the autumn.

@wiseowl, Whisky Mac brings back memories from the early 80s when we lived in Kent before moving to France. I had a bed full and I won a prize at the village flower for a Whisky Mac.

Alfred Colomb is the red one at the bottom, not the orange one which is Super Trouper. Another edit - Name is now not with the orange one!

This is the first rose to flower. It came out on 12th May followed within a few days by the whole bush bursting into flower with nearly 20 amazing blooms. Then came the wind and torrrential rain and no flowers were left. I unfortunately didn't photograph the bush - waiting for the sun to shine on it :phew:. There are now a few buds appearing (unlike the sun!) None of my other five roses are yet in bud so I am very much enjoying this thread. Celebration Rose.jpg

This is a cluster off The Bees Knees, which I removed a few days ago as the young stem was about to hit the ground. The young flowers are a primrose yellow with an orange centre, maturing to jasmine white with a magenta centre. A good one if you like colour changes and bees!

If anyone wants to know about 'The King's Rose', and maybe considering ordering for this autumn bare root, I can confirm a few things about it.. it has a delicious scent on warm days... each bloom lasts around 3 days, and is rain resistant. It's also butterfly / pollinator friendly..
I am enjoying this rose immensely, so far..
