This rose has already been shown on this thread by Busy Lizzie in France, but for UK readers, who may want to try an old fashioned rose, then it must be recommended as a first choice. Suitable for a pot for a year or two, wonderfully fragrant as much as any rose out there, and continues to bloom into autumn.. individual blooms are small but exquisite..
When your 'Gertrude Jekyll' is just a thorny bush with no flowers, this one will still be churning them out..
      'Rose de Rescht'...

This is the second of my roses to flower. Strawberry Hill is a beautiful shade of pink but no fragrance as yet. Plenty of buds to come, and it is climbing well. Strawberry Hill.jpg My other roses are now showing buds but none are ready to flower.

I love my Rose de Rescht, @Mrs Hillard. She is a nicely shaped bush too.

Rose - The Garland on my pergola - 3 plants.
The display only lasts about 10 days but bright orange hips persist through winter.
It has a strong scent of tangerines.

They've not reached the back of the pergola yet, but on the way.
My potted blueberries are just in front and they're laden this year :)

Absolutely Fabulous, living up to its name, I love how each stem has a little bouquet on the end.

They are lovely @CatDouch and I don't have any of them! Maybe I need to make a new rose bed.

More photos of Vanessa Bell as other buds open up. I'm impressed with this rose so far, the petals have a luminosity which almost makes them too bright to photograph.

I would strongly recommend You’re Beautiful @Busy-Lizzie I’m always amazed at the length of time each flower blooms for, also it never gets blackspot and has really glossy foliage.
I think it’s a really tough rose as I’ve moved it 3 times, once in the middle of summer and it carried on flowering! It’s not in an ideal position now as it’s very crowded with other plants but it still flowers away. Apparently it was Rose of the Year 2013 and I can see why.

A few months ago I bought two bareroot Silas Marner and one of them is in full bloom. Roses take roughly 3 years to reach their full potential and the very first flowers are supposed to be underwhelming...but I am already in love. Beautiful blooms, perfect pink colour, nice foliage, great fragrance..
                            Silas Marner.jpg

It has the potential to be my no.2 favourite rose - after The Pilgrim, which I think is a just magical. However, photographs don't do it justice I think and it's not at its peak yet anyway.

Bring Me Sunshine is my third favourite rose.

                            Bring Me Sunshine.jpg

And my fourth would be Penelope Lively. The strong pink really stands out against the dark foliage, the fragrance is nice & strong and I think it's the most disease resistant of my roses.
