Lovely red, and strongly fragrant I gather. I would imagine those blooms would last quite a while..

Hi @Plantminded I mentioned on the other rose thread how I’m always amazed how long the individual blooms last on my rose You’re Beautiful, it is no exaggeration to say that it lasts weeks.
Most of my roses are David Austin roses and they’re gorgeous but the blooms only last a couple of days, so it’s great to have a rose that you’re not continually dead heading.
You’re Beautiful is my most healthy rose as well, such glossy foliage and doesn’t get blackspot either.
It might not be your colour choice but I can’t praise it enough

That’s a lovely rose @CatDouch, thank you for posting your photos. That extended flowering time is a great bonus, along with the other qualities :blue thumb:.

I'm only buying David Austin roses in future. Look at what I received today from another well known supplier and exhibitor at Chelsea. They arrived in an open and damaged box, upside down, and of poor quality. After a couple of emails, which were polite but firm :thud:, I have received confirmation that a full refund will be given. Grrr!

Oh dear that's a shame but glad you got a refund, I expect you had to haggle.. I think I know where that came from..
I do recommend any of the following vendors, who will send out top quality roses.
                Trevor White
                Styles
                C and K Jones
                Eastcroft
                Beales
                Cottage Memories
I've never had a bad one from any of the above, all well packaged..

Thank you @Mrs Hillard, that’s very helpful. I have bought bareroots from Style Roses before. They were excellent quality, a good price and very speedy delivery. I’ll try your other recommended suppliers also :blue thumb:.

                      Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and have very much enjoyed looking at all your beautiful roses and companion plants on this thread.

My Rosa de Rescht has grown and flowered beautifully for a number of years but has started sending up suckers. I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what I may have done wrong.

Your advice will be much appreciated!

                        Hi @Inkymink

I haven't experienced issues with suckers so far myself, but are you completely sure that they are suckers? Are they growing from under the graft? Do they have different leaves / blooms compared to the rest of the plant?

I am not sure that there is something that you could have done wrong. Excluding cases (in other countries mostly) where the top part of the rose can die because of a harsh winter if not planted deep enough or mulched, I think it just happens sometimes.

Does anyone have Iceberg Rose? I have ordered it now wondering whether to cancel or change my order. Any info on the rose would be much appreciated.
