Talking of keyboards, I had a moan to my offspring today about the lack of a degrees symbol which I would use more often than the percentage symbol. My son gave me this information...

Hold down the 'alt' key to the left of the spacebar and at the same time hit the numbers 0176 on the number keyboard on the right. When you release the symbol should appear. This is the first time I've used the number keyboard - ever, on any computer. °

Doubt I'll ever be able to bring those 4 numbers to mind when I need then though.

 

Just watching the news and they were showing pictures of antarctic, complete with what was described as the "northern lights".

 

That Ice brecker looks like it's doing a lot of damage brecking up the ice in which to float off a melt some where else

 

I've always used alt 248 for a degree sign and Alt 241 for ±.

 

° I think I've done it by pressing the 1/2 button after pressing the !#1 button. There are all sorts of symbols. That's on mobile.

 

Yes I see that now.

 

Probably quicker just to write degree I think most people would understand if you put the number and then C or F to follow.

 

° on Tablet it's press the !#smiley button next to Ctrl, then hit the 1/2 one on the right of the keypad and the symbols come up. ☆⊙°•¤《》¡¿ etc.

Not exactly intuitive is it? Quick though, once you know!
