Thank you all for your get well wishes and advice. I would not know the spots were there if I didn't look. They don't irritate. But I am concerned with the look of some of them. Hubby got me some antiseptic cream today, but I'm not sure if I need antibiotic cream. I will do some research on infected spots. I don't suppose the local chemist would be happy for me to wander in to ask.

The kid next door to us got whooping cough, hearing that through the wall of a semi wasn't a pleasant experience.

@cactus_girl, could you take photos of the 'infected' spots for you husband to take into the chemist? Or perhaps ring 111 and ask for advice?

I've just ordered some fresh calamine lotion via Sainsbury's for OH, who's come back from Holland today covered in mosquito bites all over - very itchy!

He needs a cortisone creme for those @lizzie27 cos they'll last for days and wake up at odd times of day and night.

A facecloth or similar rinsed in hot water (as hot as possible) will give relief to the bites. Rinse again as the cloth cools and re-apply.

Rescue Remedy cream is excellent too. Takes away the pain and itch of a bite almost immediately.

Just seen that idiot Miliband bobbing around on a boat in an offshore wind farm, he said it would supply a million homes, unfortunately not one was moving as there was no wind apart from what he was spouting.:roflol:

There are reports that he fancies himself to replace Rachel Reeve when she finally dissolves totally into a puddle of tears. We know she can't do her job, but him instead? I think we should all head for the beaches, get the boats off the migrants and head for France.

Thanks for the 'bite' suggestions folks. I dabbed the calamine lotion (circa 1999!) on OH's bites and made him take an antihistamine tablet which seems to have worked. He's much better today.
The new calamine lotion arrived today so the old one's been binned.

                      How are yours @cactus_girl ?

Thanks for asking @lizzie27. Mine haven't really changed much today. Some are just starting to change colour to form scabs. All looks pretty awful, but there is no discomfort. Photo of some on my arm - hundreds more elsewhere. Feeling better than I did. When they are all scabby I can go shopping!

We use that as well as a few drops of the actual Rescue Remedy in water. Hypercal cream is also good for sores but don't know if it works with chicken pox.

If I've run out of the RR cream, I just use the liquid drops neat. I have even been know to give it to a poorly plant, especially one that has just had the shock of being moved or divided, diluted in the watering can. Seems to work a treat.

Good news that the spots don't hurt, @cactus_girl. :blue thumb:

Yes, it works well, especially with indoor plant. Many years ago we were on holiday in the Lake District for a week and the small hotel that we were at had a very large conservatory as a lounge and they had a lot of plants, along the 40ft wall, which were not at all happy. Mrs Shiney treated them with diluted Rescue Remedy and by the end of the week they had all perked up extremely well.

They gave us a 20% discount on the bill :hapydancsmil:

You're so lucky the spots don't irritate @cactus_girl but that's most unusual with chickenpox I think.
I scratched and itched for a good three weeks before the spots subsided, lots of sleepless nights!
