A warm 6 days has made quite a difference to the corn and squash here from the last picture. IMG_20250702_203057.jpg

February sown leeks with some recently planted late March sown ones next to them, hopefully they'll straighten up a bit! I've put a lot more in elsewhere. IMG_20250702_203033.jpg

Blueberries are looking like a bumper year, this bush is so heavily laden it's falling over

I think my red onions have pretty much given up now, the tops are falling over and the bulbs are big enough for my purposes, meanwhile the seed grown Zebrune are still growing and I think they are going to be pretty big for shallots.

The corn is flowering now but I sowed in stages so some is earlier than others.

I take lots of pictures just to remind me how fast things grow at this time of year.

I am growing sweet pepper California Wonder for the first time. They are in a greenhouse in pots, I have green fruits on all six plants, do I leave the fruits on until they colour (yellow/orange/red) or remove and let ripen on a windowsill? The fruits are all bunched up together so assume they won’t get too much bigger growing that tightly? TIA.

I sometimes thin them out if too congested, you can pick some and use them green, they will go soft and wrinkled on the window sill.
Obviously leaving them to ripen on the plant does stop new ones forming to some extent.

Thanks @pete as there are 6 plants I’ll use them green in rotation, then I may end up with a few red ones before they stop.

I usually grow Morrisons baby peppers, they sell bags of mini peppers of various colours, I take a few seeds each year and plant them from different coloured peppers.
I actually prefer smaller ones for salads but I cook with them as well.

I’ll have to remember to try this out @pete when in the year do you remove the seeds? Summertime and save them or in January and sow them fresh from the pepper?

                    Sorry missed your post,
I usually buy a bag in Feb and sow the seed fresh from the pepper, they germinate faster that way imo.

Had to prune one of the lemons as the branch snapped under the weight of fruits and the high winds we had. Three ripe whoppers , one large and two small unripe ones, so limes I guess  IMG_20250706_125238.jpg

Limes are different to lemons, as I understand it limes tend to be grown in more tropical places that dont have a cool spell, as most citrus needs a cool period to ripen properly, they just stay pretty much green, although ripe, in year round heat.

Same seed, sown at same time planted in the same bed next door to each other. I have other Cauliflowers I have not harvested yet. Guess what the remainder are like. Let’s put this way the remainder all harvested at once will not be enough to make a meal:rolleyespink:. I love to eat Cauliflower, growing them, not so much. They drive me insane:)

yeah although I wonder if there are markets where unripe lemons are sold as limes, they have a different aroma to the ripe ones

I did buy a small lime tree too a few months ago from Aldi and it's doing well so far, still need to repot it.
