Partially cloudy, but 25c expected today.

Not looking forward to the heatwave coming our way. It will be 32c for several days. Watering the garden takes up so much time. It's bone dry now and some plants are suffering.

Really pleasant 18 currently. I think the breeze is almost gone so if it hots-up as predicted then it will feel very sticky by the weekend. Window and curtain ‘management’ will be key during the hot spell, to keep hot air out so at least it will be cooler inside (to watch tennis).

Part cloudy at the moment. Forecast brighter later with the temperature getting up to 25C. No realistic prospect of rain in the next fortnight (I hope that turns out to be wrong!)

This is where you really need outside shutters, even pulling the curtains is too late, by then the heat has got through the window.

We have blinds and curtains at all windows, open everything up early (4am) to get cool air in then if when the sun out burning we shut it all up, at the moment it's very dark and cool, we will then watch temp gauge (inside and out) and when outside is cooler than inside we will open some window which have a breeze coming through, we ussally get about 5-7c cooler inside than out

Just looked at a temp gauge which is in a bit of a sun trap on the patio at 12.20 the temp was hitting 45c

it seems to have clouded up here now also after a totally clear sky all morning.
                      its still 26c though.

Just remember to shut them before the sun hits. If the room is already warm from the sun, nothing, not even shutters is going to cool it.

When I got my certification for manufacturing window treatments, they had us study the variances between window treatments. Yes, outside shutters stop all sun but curtains that are lined with black out have, at minimum, an R4 value for insulation. Still a pretty good help mate!

It is looking like it's going to be a bit hotter than the guessers said. So I shall lower my shades and close my curtains! :heehee:

Cooling breeze is back now, with some cloud cover, but I am dreading the hot weekend. At least I’m not working it so ‘mustn’t grumble’.

One advantage to having cats waking you up early is you can open the windows and let the cool morning air in.

It's 'ot 'ere...................................sunny with little breeze and rather clammy, might go jump in the sea tomorrow if this persists, that'll cool me down the sea rarely hits 10 degrees up here.
