That chef could be working in a Chinese takeaway near us. I called in once because our normal one was closed. Thankfully there were a couple of people waiting to be served so I had the opportunity to look around the place. Dead plants 'decorating' the customer area along with masses of cobwebs. I left!

What is it about chinese takeaways that they always have a half dead Yucca plant in the window slowly cooking away.

I've known some with very good Crassula ovata (Jade plant) in the window and that was also were I first saw one flowering.

Yep, I don't think they ever water their plants, so most just die a miserable death in the hot sun through the glass.
Neglect is often the trigger for Crassula ovata to flower.

We have a Chinese money laundering takeaway nearby, I have never seen any clients in and I pass it very often- and have done so for over 15 years.

They have some sensational Clivias on the windowsills. When they flower, people actually cross the street to take a look.

They also used to hand drying fish on the clothes line in the back. :th scifD36:

What a surprise a visitor to the Whitehouse speaks better English than the current residents of the Whitehouse.

Quite rightly they believe that hot air rises, so they think it should go due north up to the top of the world and should not be sinking towards the bottom over them.

The fires are too big to put out @pete and just as hard to control. A few years back my daughter had to drive to work daily on roads that had fires either side. Very scary.

Now this is interesting. Apparently looking at this pattern, western people tend to see rectangles, but people from rural Africa see circles. (This is thought to be because straight lines are very common in our environment, but less so in more natural ones.)

I see rectangles if I just look at it steadily, but circles if I scroll it up or down my screen.
