Last time I used KwikFit the ride seemed very harsh when I drove away. Within about a mile the pressure sensor displayed 57 psi when it should be 33 psi. Initially I thought the sensor just needed to reset itself. Parked at home and decided to check with a manual guage and it really was 57psi. Reduced the pressure then went back to KwikFit. Their only reaction was 'Oh, the fitter must have forgotten to reduce the pressure after fitting'.

Mine are alloy wheel but still had alot of bit's/dust from the alloy, i didn't take the tyre off just let out air and push tyre off the trim abit and got a rag and then the air line and blasted the rubbish out then filled it well with sealer and blow up tyre and clean off the extre that got pushed out, i think you have to make sure the rim is well clean

I might go back again with it but after two attempts by national tyres and my mate having a go it's getting a bit much.

I've contacted a few so called wheel refurbishment people but they are not interested, they want to do all four and one even said, oh we don't take the tyres off.
Tried getting a new wheel but they don't make them any more, could get a second hand one but it might be worse than the one I have.

I recall a gas man doing that to check for a leak in a gas pipe. He said they had to provide their own too ….

I think knowing where the leak is is not the problem, it's fixing it.

Knowing where the leak is is nice to know, crack in the wheel, tyre not sealing onto wheel/rim or it could be the tyre

When they do the seal Pete do they use a white-ish paste from a tub or some black rubbery stuff,

Just spent 4 hours on the internet last night trying finding where the switch was to change engine mode to economy on my Mini Cooper. Eventually found where it should be. Found out this morning it was an extra I did not pay for and the car did not have one.

I had three new tyres and this one taken off and resealed, the white stuff is still showing on the tyres.
The places like Quickfit dont use tyre seal, I was told by them.

In the good old days you could buy and fit tyre inner tubes. You could also use them as rubber rings on the beach.

Fairy liquid or similar often contain quite a lot of salt and can be quite corrosive so they are not recommended you can buy a suitable solution or you can use a pure liquid soap solution.
I used to use these for finding leaks after changing high pressure cylinders of toxic or flammable gases. We didn't want leaks in part for safety reasons, but also the gas mixtures were high purity and expensive also 4 to 6 weeks lead times.

You might get one from a car scrap dealer @pete.

I assumed it was sealer they usually just put the wheel on the machine to get the tyre on and off.
Never thought about it really, but I know he does use tyre sealant because a couple of years ago I watched him do my two front ones.
