I think I will go for a new fuel - we can bring it up in a raw form from underground (or even under the sea) in a raw, somewhat crude form, then process it to make the fuel we need along with a whole load of other fuels and useful chemicals before final processing.

As a nod to my Geordie friends, who would say that the fuel "makes your motor roll, pet" I think we should call it Rol-Pet (because that is a nice short, memorable name) or maybe Pet-Rol as that might roll off the tongue easier...

The closest anyone has got to a perpertual motion machine is that devised by Daedalus aka David Jones of Newcastle University after his death he passed the secret onto Martin Poliakoff of Nottingham University to be revealed on his death if nobody works it out prior to that event.
There is also this behind two layers of protective glass, the Clarendon Dry Pile battery has been powering a small bell since 1840 - making it the world's longest-running science experiment.

                    Hi,

There would be a law against it here in the UK.

                    Kind regards, Colin.

Against what, perpetual motion machines? There are already two, the same as throughout the rest of the universe, the first and second laws of thermodynamics that state that energy cannot be created or destroyed, and that entropy (disorder) in a closed system always increases or stays the same, meaning that some energy will always be lost to the surroundings.
Or more simply no system can be 100 % efficient.
Or just some random thing that's attracted your ire.

I went to a small shopping area I visit occasionally yesterday, the car park is not massive and can get crowded.
I was amazed to find they had installed 6 charging points, ok shouldn't be a problem, but each charging point had taken up two parking spaces, next to them was a massive green box and another slightly smaller box next to it.

In all I think they were taking up about 16 parking spaces for 6 electric cars, and not one was in use.

Just spotted today at the local M&S parking area that all the chargers have had the cables cut off, cable thieves I guess, could become the new crime, or maybe its happening elsewhere.

                            Hi,

Even in Australia @pete. This guy covers everything anti EV; including cable theft.

                            Kind regards, Col.
