Roseraie de l'Haÿ - what do you do?

    I've got one, probably full size now 7-8', I've always dead headed to try and keep the flowers and associated scent coming (even though it's impossible to get everything), the hips are pretty spectacular though.

    I guess it's one or the other, deadhead for the flowers or not deadhead for the hips?

    Just wondering what others do?

    I have always deadheaded as I grow the roses for the flowers. I don't know what the hips of my roses would look like.

    If it repeat flowers then deadhead at first and stop later in the year - best of both worlds.
