Where should I plant out these runner beans?

I had an old packet of runner bean seeds so on a whim I decided to sow all of them in little pots to see how many came up. Well now I have two dozen runner bean plants that are nearly a foot high and I can't decide where to put them in the garden!

    My options are:
    • in the front, north facing garden that gets at least partial sun during the day but I'll have to dig up some ribbon grass to make room
    • in the narrow strip along a fence on the south side of the house -- the fence runs north-south but they might be a bit overshadowed by a tree and I'd have to squeeze them in between a heather, a dicentra, and the asparagus
    • in the front again but in a very shady spot
Or maybe all three? My garden is very untidy and haphazard and follows no real plan. I have a vague idea that it's a "cottage" garden but that mostly means "I have no system for dealing with this and I just buy plants because they look nice".

Why not plant them in squares or triangles, so you can put canes in and tie the tops together a bit like obelisks, and scatter these groups around the different areas. You'll have 6 or 8 sets.

I'm thinking I might have to do that. But I wonder if I can squeeze some in by the asparagus without causing too much trouble? I might put a few in pots too.
