Well I hope he's not thinking of suing for defamation of character.

I was listening on the radio (one of those old fashioned thingies that usually sits in the corner and people's voices come out) and it was about AI software that helps people write and research things, such as Chat GPT.

Someone who phoned in to ask the 'expert' that he wanted to know whether it is worth it to pay a subscription to upgrade to a better and more advanced version.

What wasn't addressed was that if there is an updated and better version that you can pay for doesn't that imply that the free version is inaccurate or just not very good?

Following the recent European Cup in Switzerland does anybody else think we should start football matches with a penalty shootout, thereby saving two hours per game.

I'll happily watch the ladies' matches, but certainly give that idea a test out with the blokes :)

I see in the news today that nurses are going to reject a pay deal offer. Next to strike? What a wonderful world we live in.

They have opened the flood gates, won't be easy to close them.
I'm willing to bet most of the extra money going into the NHS will now be taken as pay rises for staff.

When Labour rolled over and gave out massive payrises to train drivers and medics as soon as they took office it was obvious what would follow. At least it was obvious to anybody with a brain cell. That does, of course, exclude most politicians.

I read this article earlier. I can understand someone phoning police initially, but the subsequent malarkey just sums up the state of our country. Can you imagine if his shed had been broken into at the allotment and the tools stolen?
Aye - good luck getting the polis to turn up for that....

That's outrageous @fairygirl but hardly surprising really. Greater Manchester police have had many and varied cases of shortcomings, lack of knowledge and common sense over the last decade or more. They have a new chief now but improvements are slow.

This man needs a full apology, clean slate and the return of his tools.

As for football, I agree it's at least 90 minutes of life we can't get back every time they play but I do hope the men were watching and taking note as to how it's done - so much they can learn from women!

Just think the entire World Cup done and dusted in one long weekend, less time than a Cricket Test.

Just watched the last ever free-to-air broadcast of the Tour-de-France. Don't mind admitting I was in tears as ITV4 played the final montage of their coverage over the last 35 years. I'll so miss Gary Imlach's anchorage and witty reposte and ITV4's interesting interludes showing us aerial views of the beautiful French countryside.

Which leaves me asking why the BBC can invest so much time & money in football, rugby, tennis, cricket & motorsport coverage and yet all they've ever managed to do with pro-cycling events is to tell us the results before we've had chance to watch the highlights programme on ITV4.

They have to balance costs of coverage contracts against likely audience interest @LunarSea. I suspect the UK viewing figures don't warrant it.
