I've got both Buddleias @LunarSea, they are very similar but I think yours is Royal Red. This is Black Knight.



You're right about the Miscanthus flowering early, by about a month I think. Is it telling us something we don't want to know?

 

That rings a vague bell, but I have no further information.
It went in a sheltered spot about 2018 and these are the first flowers.

 

I also think it's Indigofera @NigelJ I've got two in big tubs, they're quite hardy.

 

Thank you both I might consider moving it to a different spot this autumn.
