@ViewAhead said " all emails ever sent are being stored"

That's rather a sweeping statement, have you any evidence to back that up?

I find it hard to believe that any country can state its current population figures with any degree of certainty. People are constantly on the move and documentation isn't always available for the statisticians to collect. Some cultures produce more offspring , others produce less. Average life span differs from some countries to others .

Most countries must have some kind of idea about who came in and who went out, give or take a couple of hundred thousand.
If not then surely that is where its all going wrong.:dunno:

Obviously its only when a census takes place you get a good idea of the legal population but you will obviously miss all those illegal ones.

It is my understanding that that is the case. You and I can delete them from our devices and email accounts, but I don't think that causes them to disappear completely. If a forum closes, the posts are no longer available to see, but, again, that doesn't mean they are not still intact.

Even text messages don't disappear completely, I believe, and can be reconstructed eg when investigating a crime, though the process is time-consuming.

I went for a walk and i had to walk down a road that has been tarmac and the Fire Hydrants have all been tarmaced over meaning that the cover is now no where to be seen, i found 1 and it will be very hard to lift the cover, i think standrads are so bad that they don't even care about life!!!!!!!! if anything would to happen :sad::sad::sad::sad:
PS they used to put a bit of plastis bag etc of the hydrants cover before top dressing so the hydrant can then be seen and use afterwards

@Jiffy Contact your local council and complain. That is definitely a safety issue.

@Jiffy There is a site called Fixmystreet.com which I've found very effective in getting the council to act on problems. I've reported damaged manhole covers, potholes, overgrown hedges etc and they've all been addressed. I would think tarmacced over hydrant covers would get a very quick response. Worth a try.

Reported through council website which also is linked to fix my street, but because we are in the middle of nowhere things don't get addressed, same with police, report nowt happens untill it's a big problem, even talking to our MP get you nowhere because with are to far away from a town, the only thing which is good is collection of rubbish/recycling any thing else is a waste of breath but sometimes i can be a big pain in the backside

Its the same everywhere, I report potholes and they get a white line put round them in about a months time, often the white paint just wears away and they dont get fixed.

I've had reply messages saying the road is due to be resurfaced some time next year.

In the past I have responded by say they don't need to worry as I have overheard some of the locals saying they are going to fill the potholes with instant concrete. That usually gets the job done quicker as they hate that concrete. :roflol:

Or do what Rod Stewart did :heehee:

Rod Stewart: Singer's Harlow potholes fixed after DIY attempt

Just as a small correction:- although the press said it was in Harlow it is in the next door local authority of Epping forest.
