    I think is was taxine, extracted from yew 'berries' that was used in 'A Pocket Full of Rye', wasn't it? Must dig out my copy and read it again. :smile:

      Thought so! Wonder where someone had the idea it was ipomoea got the info from? Maybe a translation of the book into a language other than English?? :scratch:

      I agree with @Silver surfer , Convolvulus tricolor is fairly short and non-climbing. It was annual for me, but it might come through the winter in warm places. (Warm/mild in winter that is!)
