My hubby’s prescription is automatically requested from the GP by the pharmacy ( big chain) and they text him when it’s ready. Has worked - so far - for the last three years. My stoma equipment prescription is requested from the GP after I have told the stoma supplies delivery company my requirements. That has worked ok for over 20 years now with three changes of GP too. Don’t know if we’re just lucky ….:love30:

There just seems to be so many different ways they are doing this, I think this is where the NHS gets itself into a mess.
There should be one or possibly two ways to access your medicines and that is it.

Its almost like every doctors surgery is running their own scheme and different pharmacies work in different ways.

Message from SE water, we have updated your payments.
Its gone from £19 a month to £27 a month.

Estimated monthly use, £23 a month.

I'm still £23 in credit after paying my last bill.

I tried to alter it but they wont let me pay less than £25 a month.
What they never seem to take on board is I use more water in summer watering my plants so the summer bill is always higher than the winter one.

Our Original broadband has been taken over by someone called Utility Warehouse ( we originally signed up with SSE but have been shifted around several times since then!)
Got a text yesterday to say that my ‘migration’ has now been completed , and this is my new account number. Tried to log in with the new account number, and it doesn’t recognise it! Very tiresome. I’m not sure if and how my terms and conditions have changed, and evidently no way of finding out. I might even have to call them!
The account is in OHs name, but I do all the household admin. In the past, I’ve had rows with BT who would only talk to him. However, I now insist that I am him when talking to any utilities that are in his name. For the last few years, they haven’t dared to argue! ( I have put on a gruff voice to start with, but lapsed into my usual dulcet tones after a short time!) I wonder if there will be any changes following updates in the law?

Had problems Hastings insurance, house and car insurance but the app only showed the house insurance, two phone calls to india and being told I need two separate email addresses if I want to have two policies with them, I told them they was talking rubbish.

Eventually after about three emails I managed to get someone to put both my policies on the app, it was almost like they had done something really special for me in their response.

We have no choice with our water charges - everyone pays the same [I assume it may vary from region to region] regardless of what they use. It annoys me intensely.
I had a look at our current charge for the year, and it works out at approx. £23.50 a month. I save all my shower water as it heats up [my shower works off the heating system] and also keep a large container in the shower to catch the water when I'm in there. It's then used in the garden, even though we don't have any water restrictions, and I could use as much as I want from the tap or a hose. Upstairs there's a bath, but daughter showers, so we aren't filling a bath either.
Unlike many other people round here, I don't waste water, and despite the very dry weather this year, we have no restriction on use, as there's still enough on this side of the country. I've said before - I'd love to be on a meter!

I've been trying that trick for weeks @Jiffy and it doesn't work, no matter how much washing gets hung out to dry!

@fairygirl I'm confused. If they charge you the same as everyone else why would you not hesitate to use what you're already paying for?

I don’t mean being wasteful but dropping the, what I consider, extreme water saving measures.

I do have a meter but any time I tried to lower my usage, the price went up. They'll get their money one way or another!

I do have rain barrels and such because I don't want to be wasteful and because I understand it is better for my plants. But they can't replenish supply at the rate I use it throughout the summer.

To add to the stupidity of the situation, I managed to source the medication but reacted badly too it. I stopped using it and contacted the surgery on a Thursday. Another doctor called me back and said the doctor who had prescribed it wasn't in until the following Tuesday, and he would really have to make a decision on the best alternative. Following Tuesday he did actually call me, a miracle in itself, and told me to stop using the medication. He didn't offer any alternative, just made an appointment for 3 weeks later. When I finally did get to see him, it took about 30 seconds of examination before he declared there was no evidence of the issue (a weeping sore on my cheek) so he didn't need to see me again!
The sore had actually almost disappeared after a week of using a cream prescribed months earlier by a nurse practitioner, but she had stressed that it was important to see a doctor if it hadn't completely disappeared. That's what started the entire saga.
This is one of the biggest GP surgeries in the area, formed by the amalgamation of at least 3 surgeries, but they seem to only have one skin specialist.

I'd never expect a GP surgery to have a skin specialist, GP stands for general practice so I would expect you to be referred to a dermatologist at a hospital if that was necessary.

But I do agree, they tie themselves up in knots and only seem to work at most three days a week, not sure what they get up to the rest of the time for the money they get.

I had a rash a year or so back, the GP tried several different creams and lotions to no avail; they then asked if wanted referring to dermatology and added it was a 12 month plus waiting list.
I declined and the next time it flared up I saw a different GP who prescribed a different cream which worked and keeps the rash under control with use as and when.
