    Not having an official programme doesn't mean an employer doesn't treat staff equally or fairly.
    Over the years I worked with people of many different nationalities, straight, gay, able bodied and disabled. They were at all levels within companies from new starters to senior managers. Those companies clearly didn't need diversity training then, or now. The fact of having a 'diversity officer' won't automatically mean that the company will actually treat everybody fairly. It's just another badge to wave.

      My company embraced all this DEI stuff in a big way. Stonewall Champion and all. We were directed to watch a video on the intranet about why pronouns were important.
      This video featured a young girl who pronounced that some days she woke up feeling like a boy, and other days like a girl. This is when the light bulb went on in my head that this was all a load of men's dangly bits. On that day a new TERF was born.

        Some mornings I wake up feeling like a right mardy mare, and on others I am a cross between Pollyanna and Snow White surrounded by singing bluebirds.
        Not sure about today yet :biggrin:.

          As I like to think of it, a Trans Extremism Rejecting Female. ;) If a group insists on labelling anyone who questions any part of their mantra with an acronym, I reserve the right to choose what it stands for. :biggrin:

            Any company that needs to appoint a diversity manager is already failing IMHO. OH and I both worked for a software house and there were plenty of women from receptionists to the Company Secretary and HR director, tho the latter was a complete cow. We both first worked for a small outfit of about 50 people that was bought by a bigger outfit. One of the men was president of a gay association. Another was bi. The rest were more interested in real ale or women. The larger company had a branch that built specialist air control computers and had engineers for those as well as we who did software for anyone and everyone including the early years of Microsoft Windows. It had an HR department and they, frankly, are bad news whatever their persuasion.

            I'm confused.:roflol::roflol:Dot com.
            I really dont give a monkeys, I just treat people as they treat me, there are R soles of all types, just dont try forcing you opinions on me personally.

            It all went tits up when personnel departments became HR.
            I dont and never have considered my self as a resource, I'm a person.

              I just think that calling people a resource is demeaning, people are people, not just something to be used at will by HR departments.
              But dont get me going on HR departments, I've had dealings with a couple during being made redundant and that is all you are an expendable resource, that can be paid off for the least possible payment and sent on your way.

                Our head of HR appears on Teams meetings with a big trans flag behind her (baby pink, baby blue and white stripes). So you know there's no point complaining if you find a man in the ladies' loos.

                    When I went gliding I ended up in the ladies loo, luckily the place was empty, I thought it was just a one size fits all loo until I came out and noticed the men's loo on the other side of the corridor.:roflol:

                      We're all allowed a mistake - I've been in the men's before by mistake and it was extremely unpleasant.

                          They’d have to prove it wasn’t natural. Those English lentils are a killer…:biggrin:
