Our water bill dropped considerably once we went over to a meter and we use a lot of water. I don't know how ours will compare as we don't pay the sewage part of the water bills as we're not on mains drainage.

One of the best things we did was change over to a water meter. Just paid the last quarter bill, which was £144. Includes sewerage but a small reduction as we have soakaways for the downpipes. Our water bill used to be calculated on our rates, and was sky high. The bill helpfully told me that we used the equivalent of 2.4 bathtubs a day! More than last year, but less than the average for a two person household. I’d certainly recommend going over to a meter.

I don't think you should underestimate how many parents spell names "unconventionally" when registering births. And Kieth follows the "i before e, except after c" rule that used to be drummed into children's heads at school, so the tattoo may have been accurate in the cirs.

I worked with a chap called Kieran, his dad misspelt it when he registered the birth.
He was proud of it as a distinctive fact about him.

That still seem huge for your water @Ergates - and over 2 bathtubs a day of water. Wow!
I can't see how I use anything like that amount -a 2 person household as well, and I drink a lot of tea

We moved to metered water earlier this year. Our bill is roughly half what it was when based on rateable value. Just 2 of us in the house. The only change we have made is to the way my wife uses the washing machine. In the past she would use it even if she only had 3 or 4 items to wash. Now she waits until there's about half a load as minimum.

I thought that was the (or at least a) normal spelling. I know two Kierans and they both spell it with an "a".

I used to sit next to a kid at junior school and we would get moaned at by the teacher because we were told to initial our work. The problem was our initials were the same if you only went by first and surname (we shared the same christian name). It got worse as our middle name is the same also and if he added his third initial (I only have one middlename) it spells out his complete Christian name.
We ended up just writing our surnames instead.

Had to use a toilet in the shop this morning as i normaly have a pee before i go but forgot, anyway i haven't used a public toilet for many years (10-15 years) so i go to the area and all i could find was Lady's, childs changing room and disable one, what i didn't know was that the disable one is also the males one  so in a go and had a _ _ _ _ and i couldn't find the flush but there was a red rope by the toilet so i thought that must be it and pulled it, next thing is there is an alam ringing, oop's, the flush was a button at the back of the toilet which looked to me like something for the wall, when out side and i waited for someone to come as alam was sounding, two minutes later someone turns up :) so i had to own up that it was me , why are toilets now so hard to see if they are male or female and flushies are in silly place's, it's put me off using them again, now i know why lots of delivery driver's pee/poo outside our house so i will not complain about that from now on :coffee:

@Jiffy modern loos do have push button cisterns now.

As with insects, if it's red it means a warning. 3 people on my garden club trip to the Taunton area last June fell for that one which I found odd given the variations in French loos.

Can't help with sexing loos but, if there's a queue, I will use the disabled loo and if we're a coachload, the men's loos are fair game too.

That does seem to be a name with many variants. I've seen Kieren, Kyran, Kyren as well as the more common version.
