Trump's goons have sacked all sorts of competent people who are not "yes" men and women and have closed down all sorts of research and scientific porgrammes in cancer, other diseases, weather monitoring and forecasting, environment and more. It's alamrming to say the elast. RFK's reaction to the latest shooting in a school? Psychiatric drugs and counselling at fault and yet anyone with ahlf a brain knows that democratic govts limit access to guns and shootings go down. Republican presidents let those controls lapse and up go the shootings. Doh. The USA is top of the world for school shootings Republicans, male and female, also have some strange ideas about rape and its effect on women I just don't understand how what passes for their brains have developed into such ignorant, stupid, bullies with no empathy or care for others.
They are indeed frightening @KT53. Something else interesting is the chap in charge of USA security including citizen safety and counter terrorism. He's 22 and has no qualifications other than admiring Trump since he was 14!! I had the misfortune to hear the start of a recent Trump cabinet meeting and the sycophantic toadying was unbelievable. Unfortunately Radio 4 broadcast the recording with no trigger warnings. Fortunately I've not got a link to inflict on you.
I noticed some time ago @KT53 that the original series of Star Trek ( with William Shatner as Captain Kirk) was showing trigger warnings too What on earth was on those shows to warrant this? Beats me….. except perhaps some hu-man dressed up in a scary crafty fancy dress
Tacky sets, bad acting, believing Kirk was an irresistable Lothario? I was there, in my teens, when it started and loved it but can't watch it today tho it broke all sorts of established rules for gender and race so was revolutionary in many ways. The Next Generation and Voyager are so much better and the computer is still voiced by the original nurse in Star Trek, wife of Gene Roddenberry.

I don't think Trump has told the truth about anything in living memory @Ergates. He's using the presidency to line his own personal coffers and those of his family and accolytes so any distraction from what's actually going on with the economy, personal freedoms, education, illegal deportations and arrests, the Epstein files is fine by him. It's clear to me he's also in Putin's pocket after receiving "loans" back when he was in yet another bankruptcy phase so all his domestic and economic policies are designed to disrupt normal services and foreign policies and all the trade tariffs are designed to disrupt normal allegiances and undermine allies who have more morals and more sense. As well as having their eye on Greenland and all its mineral wealth, his lot are also undermining politics in Alberta and paying people to agitate for joining the USA instead. The fact that Alberta is situated on Canadian native lands and has a legal treaty to say it's leased land seems to have escaped them.
I know the comment is also a play on words, but Only Fools and Horses does have trigger warnings, rather than warnings about Trigger.
@NigelJ Pre order............ Several seed and plant suppliers suggest you pre order !! You either order something or you don't as far as I am concerned. Pre think........... I haven't personally come across this ( as yet anyway ) but I was recently re reading one of John Humphry's books on language "Beyond Words" I think and it was an example of ridiculous language use he had come across at some point. Could have been business speak but can't remember for sure.
