Have you seen them mating, some slugs hang from trees in the process, not nice when you walk into them in the dark.

Maybe we need to put little trampolines over vulnerable plants. The slugs will have to start all over again after bouncing off.

Re the CDs - it's why I wanted a car with a CD player when I bought a new car about 7 years ago, and that's now difficult to get too. I'm often in places with no signal, so that's when I mainly use mine, although I often use them if there's nothing on the radio I want to listen to either. I keep a small collection in the car.

I went from a car with a 5 CD player to a single CD slot. The new car has a USB port so I bought an MP3 player and copies my favourite CDs to that and can play them in the car.

For slugs you need cd's by the 80's american hip hop band, Salt n Pepa.

I've seen the same thing. I put all my seedling trays in the greenhouse on foot high feet that stood in water. I've seen it used outside (it works there as slugs don't fly unless you give them some momentum yourself) as the slugs don't go through the water to climb up the legs but unfortunately it wasn't as successful in the greenhouse because they slithered up the glass and then used a slime "rope" to lower themselves down. You kinda have to admire their persistence.

@fairygirl I drove across France to Genoa on my own last summer and back again with Possum following a circuitous route. No CD player in this car so I made up my own playlist on a USB stick. Brilliant.

One of the first things I did when I retired was to (painstakingly) copy all of these .....

                        CDs.jpg

..... onto this Brennan music server - which allows me to randomly play all the tracks in my whole collection should I wish to.

                        Brennan.jpg

The Brennan then backs-up onto this tiny Freecom portable hard drive which plugs into the USB in my car and again allows me to play my entire collection randomly should I wish to.

It’s the “random” bit that causes me some problems. I know nothing about these machines but from what I’ve heard coming out of other people’s, it does sound weird. I mean, who wants it to play Schubert’s symphony number nine followed by the best of Mississippi John Hurt?

Good luck with finding the right moment before this one breaks and have your remarkable collection transferred to the next server.

The chances of the music server and the backup hard drive both failing together is fairly slim, and even if they do, the CDs could be copied again (assuming @LunarSea hasn't thrown them out).

That's quite a few cds you have there. :blue thumb:
