There is a difference, I believe, in pension prospects if allowed to resign rather than being sacked. Have to admire Rayner for her determination and achievements given her start in life but she's also been very stupid and shown poor judgement on occasions other than this and that's not good enough for people who hold power over other people's lives and prospects.

As for Farage, he was always anti EU but happily accepted the fat salary, the housing and car allowances, the paid trips "home" to the UK, the all expenses trips to Strasbourg for parliament sessions there and the very fat pension he will receive. In his Brussels days he also had a very docile German wife tho I gather he's now dating a French waitress he met in Strasbourg.

@NigelJ even worse is when they look at your garden and just say "what a lot of work" without seeing the pleasure it brings when plants grow well and combinations work.

 

The Greens have totally bought into gender insanity for years. It now seems to come above the environment in their priorities.
The Liberal Democrats are even worse - one of their policies is to recognise "non-binary" identities in law. I'm pretty sure that will never happen, but if it did I would instantly declare myself non-binary. After all, there's no way anyone can prove otherwise.

 

Enshrine in law that only two identities exist - Male and Female. That way everybody is binary.

 

I have difficulty believing that; the German wives I've met are definitly in charge.

 

Yet another letter from the electric co. telling me to make an appointment to have a smart meter installed. They have been told time and time again over the last few years that I don't need a new meter as the old one is working perfectly despite it's age and that I wouldn't want a Smart one anyway. A couple of phone calls too ( both from the same number ) but no message left. No idea if it was the electric lot or some other weirdo. Obviously not important tho.
@Escarpment I suppose at least the Greens are definite about their colour and don't have to choose between black, white, brown. As far as the gender thing is concerned, as I understand it we could happily opt to describe ourself as a gay horse and not expect it to be disputed

 

@NigelJ Germany has a tradition of children starting school at 6 years old, later than most, and of wives and mothers being proper hausfraus. I knew women in Brussels who described her as being very quiet and domesticated and I suspect that's what Farage wanted - freedom to behave as he pleased and no questions.

I met many German wives whose husbands were diplomats or businessmen on the international circuit and they were anything but docile because if you're moving every 2 or 3 years to new posts you have to be able to stand up and get things done to keep a family home together and make a social life.

 

We never did binary when I was a school although I do remember it had something to do with maths.

Check that the smart meter change is from your supplier. I kept receiving the same and checked with my supplier. It was not from them and if I had installed it I would, unknown to me, changed my supplier,

 

Well, yes he was doing what all the other fat cats that are MEPs were and still are doing, at least in the UK we dont have that second level of MPs to support anymore mostly due to Ukip who he was fronting.

I think if you look back there was a time when both the Kinnocks were getting it in the neck for taking the EU MEP system for a ride.

All these things are set up to be open to abuse, mostly because they make their own rules.
