Good point about putting canes in when sending plants in the post, I think if you write top on it they will purposely put it up the wrong way.:mute:

Yes I added variety and a picture in flower from last year, they start white and turn pale orange.
I had someone ask me for two and would I sell two for £15, I said yes, they said I will be round tomorrow, they never showed.:dunno: Why do people do this?

I can only think they are waiting until frost is unlikely and then they will be looking, the bung it in and and chuck it brigade have yet to make a move.:roflol:

I have sold so many daylily on eBay easy enough to do ,, either do a sale price ie sell straight away or as I used to do have a bidding war but the secret is get it to close at 7pm when everyone is at home and I tend to close on a Saturday or Sunday and state only send out Monday to Wednesday

lets us know how you get on

and back to my question, do you place in water to root ?

Not getting involved with E bay, not really keen on posting stuff, heard lots of stories of people saying things haven't arrived and wanting a refund.

Yes, sorry, I take cuttings from very ripe wood in October at cut back time, the soft sappy stuff just rots.
Takes about 2 months for good roots to form in deep water before potting up.

                Hi

the plant that Pete kindly gave me has had 4 flowers up to now with more to come about 5pm the scent appears the other two plants I got from Lagthorne plants are still in growth mode and getting huge , the 3 from Parker’s are still in small pots but have settled in, I now realise you need two year old plants at least to have lots of flowers . They will go in the frost free garage over winter , I have read you strip all the leaves off ? As part of the winter prep ? To put them to bed as such .

I dry them off, I don't strip off leaves but I do prune back, as they dry the leaves start to fall naturally, having the leaves on helps to dry the rootball in a very damp time of year.
I pot on slowly as some root restriction forces them to flower earlier.
Any thing seed grown is unlikely to flower first year.
I take my cuttings from the prunings, so it's wood from high up which is already in flowering mode.

Mine are coming to an end now, gales and constant wet has rotted most of the flowers and no more coming.
