We had a good harvest this year ,Black Hamberg.
We gave some to the grandchildren and they couldn’t understand they had pips in them as the supermarket grapes are all pipless.

I agree. I had to thin my apples hard to avoid branch breaking. The apples are smaller than usual but have excellent flavour. I have two trees, one a dwarf, which is just ripening now. The other one is almost finished, and the storm will probably have brought down the last of the fruit I have not been able to reach. Hopefully, the trees will not have a rest year next year with virtually no fruit. Biennial bearing.

Last year I pickled some in cider vinegar-a grape success !
This year has indeed been a bumper crop. Most yet to be harvested,
        I bought 1 each red/white/black from J Parker 4 years ago.
Sold as seedless but some in each bunch have pips.

My Vine in the greenhouse had about 15 bunches of grapes in its 3rd year. But to get better grapes I reduced them down to 6 good sized bunches. Then all of a sudden the birds got in and ate the lot. So I have bought some of those mesh bags for next year !!!

Great tree production of plums, greengages and apples but sadly not a grape in sight.

My daughter and her partner got 32Kg from 2 vines, a Black Hamburg and a green one. The vines are mostly to shade their decking and they don't thin them out or anything. They are making wine from most of them. They also had a big crop of apricots, Tomcot I think. Needless to say they have a very sunny deck with a south wall. I think a wet winter followed by a hot summer has been very good for tree fruits. Trees can get the water from deeper down when it's dry. My raspberries suffered despite being watered.

They brought some jam last time they visited and it was lovely! Apparently they couldn't eat all the fresh fruits there were so many this year but I think they were nicer than shop bought.
ps. I have grafted a shoot onto my seedling Kea plum so am hoping to get some myseld one day.

                  Awesome grape harvest!
A vine is on my list of things to get this winter. Have been clearing a space.

                  Lovely harvest

I tried black hamburg in my greenhouse but pulled it out as it was too big and got botyritis badly.then two years ago I bought two Supaga vines in a sale and put one down the allotment outside and one in my back garden. The back garden one is on an east facing wall but I'm trying to train it over to a south facing wall, it has yet to produce anything. The one in the allotment though produced maybe six bunches this year and they were very sweet and flavoursome. It's quite an early variety. Not a seedless variety though
