Maybe you need a hose fixed up @Sheal . Just open the door and - whoosh...
'Sorry Officer, I was about to clean the path and my hand slipped....'
Joking apart, I know what you mean about worrying about your car etc. Better to just not open the door. I don't have lights on at the front or anything, so I've not had any problems since we moved back here.
It's sad though - any excuse for little gobsh*tes to cause trouble. I'm sure their parents are very proud of them.:frown:

We're lucky we live miles away from a village or town, we've only had 1 family knock on the door, we don't have anything that we can give so they had some veg, don't think that went down well as we haven't had anyone since :yay::hapfeet::hapydancsmil::yahoo:

Nice ideas thank you @fairygirl but they wouldn't work here. My bungalow is side on - on it's plot which means the interior layout faces a different way. So in turn, these horrors can see we're in and I'm not about to sit in the dark for hours. It would also mean trailing the hosepipe right round the bungalow (its long) or through it.

My current car is only a week old and I'm not going to risk it. It makes sense just to abandon ship, make a booking for dinner somewhere nice and clear off out. :)

It's sad that you have to resort to that @Sheal .
I really don't know what's happened to this country. Shoddy parenting, or none at all, and no respect for others. If kids get lifted, they see it as a badge of honour, not a punishment.

That's what happens after 30+ years of allowing the little darlings to do what they want without any negative consequences.
