I’ve seen some TV dramas/films lately where someone has paid a visit to the bathroom and have then come straight out. I was shouting “ wash your hands” at the screen. Horrible.
@Obelix-Vendée Yes I agree - hygirnr practise in the medical sphere has ( or should have ) been the norm for some 200 years which was why I was a bit surprised when @redstar mentioned it. The habit of adding rubbish to flour was certainly the vogue back in Victorian times - we have simply progressed from 1 sort of rubbish to another sort @redstar you're certainly on a winner where you live with the Amish culture of organics. Not too bad in this area either
How do you know they haven't most "bathrooms" have wash basins and towels in them don't they; not just a urinal and/or a toilet.
Regarding taxig the super rich, they are mostly international in the way they live. Which is why tax laws, of any country, don't nail them down in the way it does ordinary people. You only have to look at large companies like Amazon as an example, they just move money around to avoid tax in all countries, not just the UK. You do have to wonder why so many kids these days have allergies to quite common things. I do tend to think the sanitized environment that they are brought up in must have some bearing on the matter. Are they not getting the antibodies from their mothers in much the same way young animals need it. Not a subject I know much about but something is going wrong somewhere. Climate change? No, the human race will get wiped out by peanuts.
They're getting on top of the peanut allergy though. It used to be that parents were told not to give anything containing peanuts to babies until a certain age (can't remember what). Now that's been reversed and they're positively encouraged to feed them peanuts as it's thought that early exposure is important. https://www.uhs.nhs.uk/whats-new/ne...all-if-babies-weaned-early-on-peanut-products
Not all Organic stuff is Organic, a few years ago a ship with organic grain came in to this country, it had a bad bug problem and was treated to kill the bugs as it left the other country, on the paper work it say it was CO2 but the guys working on the ship had a feeling it wasn't CO2, work stop because to many works feeling ill, the smell was giving the game away, it was treated with some other chemical but i won't put up the name because it's a nasty chemical, when it was tested the guy was in full breathing apparatus and it was the nasty chemical so all people with in the area had to have breathing apparatus, the good new is it killed the bugs!!!!! Too many people bending the rules/laws and not just Organic, but yes there is some people that do a very good job and don't bend rules/laws
@NigelJ , because the door was wide open all the time….or didn’t have a door, just an opening. The bits I saw were based in their own private residence too.
I often think when using public toilets, I know where the things I have touched have been, but I dont know who has touched the taps and the dyers or the door handles, I just wonder if you pick up more germs washing your hands than you do making a hasty retreat.
@pete I suspect the flush mechanism is the germiest thing in a toilet. Public loos here increasingly have automatic sensors on taps so no need to touch them to get soap or water. I prefer paper towels to air dryers if available. @redstar - the EU doesn't allow GM foods or hormones for fattening beef or other meat animals. Meat and fish here, pre-packaged or counter sold, have to say where it was farmed and slaughtered as well as whether it's organic or free range and many labels will indicate the farm too. Fruit and veg also have to state their origin on the display labels or packaging. I get my news on world affairs from a variety of sources in the EU, UK and USA, but never Fox.
@Obelix-Vendée As far as red states versus blue states with education level, seems the red states are doing much better . Red States Have Seen Less Learning Loss - Education Next
I've just discovered that, supposedly, the Bible covers quantum entanglement: 1 John 4:17 (Quantum Entanglement): “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” This verse speaks of a profound interconnectedness between believers and God, mirroring the entanglement of particles in quantum physics.3 Jun 2024 Right that explains it very clearly!
@redstar that report is from 2019. This one is from 2025 and shows the top 5 states for educational achievementt are blue and the bottom 5 all red - Least Educated States 2025 @NigelJ That's all Greek to me - the quantum stuff anyway.
@Obelix-Vendée . This one is 2025 Blue States Used to Lead in Education. Not Anymore So proud I am of my Peace President Trump. The hostages are free. Many wars stopped. Cheering on.
