Announcement - Sad News about Daisies

    It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the passing of Daisies (also known as Jo or Josephine to many), former GC Admin and long standing member, being a significant part of the forum from 2005.

    Sadly, this news is coming to us quite late, as she passed away back on 9th January of this year - her absence from another (non-gardening) forum led folks to search for information and they discovered probate information that confirmed the sad news.

    Our sincerest condolences go to Daises family and friends.

      I remember her as a forum moderator.
      I'm sure she had a sister called @jjordie or something similar, it was some years ago and I may be remembering wrong.

        Thank you for letting us know Russ. I also knew her from Bonesmart which I joined after all my mishaps.

        I also remember Jordie her sister, who has passed too I believe..

          Indeed, it was the good folks from Bonesmart and in particular @RichardR, that let us know - very nice of them to go searching when concerned for her welfare and for latterly thinking of us here.

            Sad to hear this news of Daisies. I remember her here on GC although I believe she had retired from the forum quite a few years ago.

              Yes, she retired some time back.

              I also remember jjordie and I think she moved to Norfolk. Don't think she's been around since before covid.

                Yes, @jjordie (Jean) was her sister, and she sadly passed away a few years ago also :(

                I was very good friends with both of them for many years, and I will always miss both of them.

                Jo and I first met in 2005 on a Christian forum, in a thread discussing favourite star wars films of all things lol, despite a 40+ year age gap, we become firm friends from the get go, and remained so until all contact stopped abruptly, which lead to a months long search for more information.

                It was only a few days ago I found the last few missing pieces to confirm her passing :(

                    I'm sorry to say I've never heard of her, and I've been here since 2016.
                    However, I'm sad to know that she has died, and hope she passed peacefully.
