Yes, they root fairly quickly in moist compost. I did a red one earlier this year. The large pink one by the cars was one I did from the other by the house. I just stuck it in a sand pile and went off to England for a few months and came back to it rooted.

@strongylodon assuming you move the kunzea here  where did you buy it please?
Btw, my grevillea semperflorens is also flowering. It has lived outside in a pot on the patio for some years.

@CarolineL the Kunzea was grown from seed which was bought in mixed pack of seeds at Sydney Botanical Gardens six years ago, along with Hakea, Melaleucas, and Calothamnus.

Thanks @strongylodon - I couldn't find anyone selling it here. However plant base.co.uk sell other kunzea. Unfortunately they don't show up on plant searches. Worth checking - I've bought from them before and they do lots of interesting plants

Many years ago I visited plant base and although he had lots of plants, he didn’t have everything on that very long list.

Many many years ago, I was going to get a group of my students to rebuild his website. Unfortunately his assent to this got lost in our internal mail, so it never happened. Shame, because it would be useful to see what he's actually got. I did buy nuytsia from him once - but of course I killed it.

If the Kunzea produces seed capsules I'll let you know.

Back in the days when I had a garden (in the chilly Cotswolds) I had a magnificent specimen that was totally hardy ( I did much it with conifer debris though).

I considered all the large Lobelia with tubular flowers exotic on the basis that they were rarely seen. L.laxiflora was always a favourite of mine...........

Gorgeous @longk - and was that an interesting digitalis to the right of the greenhouse?

@CarolineL the digitalis looks like Digitalis ferruginea to me. I've grown that from seed in the past and it lasted three or four years.

Thanks @NigelJ - I'm always tempted by the supposedly perennial digitalis, but that's no better lifetime than my white selection of the normal ones

Definitely short lived perennials, but easy from seed, pest free and a bit different.
