I generally buy own-brand crisps (unless Kettle are on offer) but I still expect cheese & onion crisps to be in green bags and salt & vinegar in blue, even though these days most of the supermarkets follow Walkers' lead on the colours and are therefore the "wrong" way round. McCoys and Hula Hoops are the "right" way round but I don't like either of those.

If you have long hair that gets tangled when washed @pete it helps smooth each shaft and make combing out easier - less stretch on each hair and less pull at the roots which can both lead to breaking.

Layman's Terms:- :heehee: It is used to condition hair that has problems with either tangling or looking dull. Hair has a cuticle on the outside that needs to lay flat to protect the body of the hair and when flat also reflects light and looks shiny. If the cuticles are not flat they can catch on each other and get knotted and tangled.

Well you learn something new every day, I never thought about tangles.

When I was a kid I used Brylcreem.:)

I once told the barber to put grease on it, he was a bit put out by that.

The other thing that helps is to use a wide-toothed plastic comb and start combing from the ends, not the roots, working your way up gradually. For really bad cases, do the combing before rinsing the conditioner off - this is a good tip when washing childrens' hair.

I've never met a hairdresser that has been taught this way. They always comb my hair with a metal, fine-toothed comb, starting from the roots and tugging hard.

I've trained over 100 hairdressers and they have all been taught the proper way to comb and disentangle hair. :blue thumb: If it is long hair it should also be gripped between where the come is and the head so that there is no chance bof the client feeling any pulling.

I've had to "train" every hairdresser, even the ones with long hair. Not getting far tho as I only go once every 2 years now.

I have to go once a year - my hair is very fine and lank and gets to a point where I really can't stand it any more. It's at that stage now. I get a severe bob then let it grow another year!

Can't be doing with a bob @Escarpment cos it all flops in front of my eyes when I'm bending over to weed or plant. Having it shoulder length or more means I can tie it back or up out of the way. It's dead straight too so doesn't lend itself to shorter styles - life is too short to blow dry and style every day.

Bald would mean wearing a hat in winter to keep warm and again in summer to stop sunburn. I'm sticking with hair.

I'd be tempted, but suspect I have an unattractively shaped skull.

Oh I agree about the blow drying and styling. The last time I used a hairdryer was to thaw out a frozen front door lock.
