So are you suggesting that if they decide he's insane then he didn't do it.
He still did it, no question ,I really don't see why they need to fussy foot around with something like this.
In other less serious cases they name people that in my opinion should not be done, they ruin people who finally get poven to be innocent.

Hardly a day goes by without someone gaslighting these days.

Where do they get these terms from I still don't know what it is supposed to mean.
Does it mean they are dim.

He did do it, however you look at it, but insanity might mean he goes to a secure hospital rather than a prison.

To me gaslighting is what came before electric lighting.

Nowadays it's hot air - no shortage of that lately :wallbanging:
No one could deny that the recent attacks ( Manchester and Australia ) on Jewish communities were appalling but the Israeli govt. are not helping - particularly with their most recent approval of illegal settlements. They quite openly state that this is being done in order that an independant Palestinian state has zero chance of coming into being. They appear to have pretty much the same tactics as Russia and seem incapable of reasoned debate.
Wonder if/when they will eventually use a bit of nous - the world's New Year Resolution should just be " get your head out of your a**e hole " and look around you.

The sad thing is - those people in the remote Jewish communities probably feel the same way as you do about the Israeli government and yet they get blamed by the religious fanatics.

It's not all that far back as I remember the gas lighter who used to light the gas lights in the road my school was in. He was pleased when they updated his job and save him from carrying a ladder over his shoulder that allowed him to get up to the top of the light to light the flame. The two arms that stuck out at the sides near the top of the lamppost were for leaning the ladder against. The update was a log pole with a hook and a lighter on it. It allowed him to do 20% more lights per day.

We still had a gas light in our kitchen until we did renovations - you can see it here in the centre of the far wall.

I did mention just a little while ago that we only managed to be able to buy our place because it was almost derelict. It was liveable but not very salubrious.

Looks almost the same as our kitchen when it was stripped out! We didn't have any gas lights though as it was built in 1961. We, too, could only afford to buy a 'doer upper' that came with a large garden in this city. We only had a small courtyard before and I was desperate for a proper garden.

It comes from a film. A man wanted to make his wife think she was going mad, and one of his tactics was to keep dimming the gas lights (I think by turning on lights in the attic so the pressure was reduced). Then when she commented on it he would claim they were just as bright as usual.

It was a stage play and then there were a couple of different film versions. This is the first one:

I made my last visit to a supermarket yesterday, just stocking up on the essentials so that I don't have to go near one again until all the silliness is over. I found my biggest obstacle was the huge restocking cages all over the place.

I've done well this year; I remembered how awful the music in ASDA was last year so made a point of not crossing their doors from the last week of November. And I've managed to miss the brass bands in Morrisons - that was a close run thing one day as they were just setting up when I left. It's annoying that Lidl have taken to playing music, I hope they will stop when Christmas is over.

The Morrisons I use is situated on a housing estate and they are banned from having overnight deliveries, so shelf filling goes on during the day and its often chaos mid morning at the best of times with all those cages in the aisles which are not the widest I've come across.
