Everything is closed here, except a small Coop and this chemist. Morrisons is 15 miles away.

I've always found the pharmacists very good around here when giving advice, so wouldn't buy medications from a supermarket when I wasn't sure what to get.

Strepsils etc are no good, I've been taking honey and the sore throat is much better. The medicine I got from the chemist is for the cough.

Thank you all, I'm usually very good at avoiding things like this but there are apparently lots of bugs around this winter ...

I usually drink whisky. Doesn't do anything for the cold but makes you feel less miserable about having it.

Crush a clove of garlic in a mug, good squirt of lemon juice, teaspoonful of honey, boiling water.
Stir and drink while soon as it's cool enough.

Garlic is good for you if you eat it. I can confirm it does not work when hung in a window to deter nasty neighbours tho. Might work for vampires as I haven't seen any about

I have been known to creep out into the garden in the early hours..........admittedly to watch the Hhogs but I'm sure I would have noticed the odd Vampire or 2.
Mind you, it could be the Church, just yards away, which puts them off a bit ?

A few years ago, when trousers dropped half way down the backside seemed to be popular, there was a news article with accompanying video of a shoplifter falling flat on their face when running away. Their unsupported trousers decided to do a citizens arrest by falling round his ankles.

Tennis match on ... in Dubai. Kyrgios, ranked below 600 in the men's game, is playing Sabalenka, the women's No.1. Kyrgios has just won, despite an adapted court, smaller on Sabalenka's side.

So, both players are doing it for mega bucks, but it doesn't do the reputation of the women's game any favours whatsoever. Billie Jean King, who has campaigned for decades to get equal status for the women's game is, not surprisingly, unhappy this took place.

I dont see the point, as with all sport the womens and mens are two different games, apart from making money it achieves nothing.

I seem to remember BJK played a bloke who was almost unknown at the time, Bobby Riggs was it.

Bobby Riggs had been a Slam winner, but he was in his 50s at the time of the match.

Kyrgios is really out of form. He has hardly played for the last couple of yrs, due to injuries, etc ... and still he can beat the strongest female player. :noidea: He had also never played on a court of those dimensions, so had to rein in his power to keep his shots in.
