Can anyone identify this fern please? I thought it might be Dryopteris wallichiana but am now not sure as it is still evergreen.

I find fern id very hard.
    Maybe Blechnum chilense.

Thank you @Silver surfer, the Blechnum has a much closer likeness. It’s a good one for covering shady places, l’m planning to get some more :).

It could well be Polystichum munitum
Fern id from pics is really hard.
I love ferns and used to grow many but never got the hang of iding them. POLYSTICHUM MUNITUM 16-11-2006 12-13-18.JPG POLYSTICHUM MUNITUM 10-05-2009 15-15-32.JPG

I have a book on ferns which describes all the leaf forms @Silver surfer which is useful:

I have this book...probably similar to your book.
          My problem is my memory!
Very often fern id involves the sori on the back.
It is much easier when book and mystery fern are seen side my side.

Ferns are really difficult for the amateur to identify. I often end up with buying something I already have. But on the plus side, at least I know it's going to survive.
            Irritating all the same, though.
