I'm not sure commodity can be applied to a woman's eggs; to my mind a commodity is something freely tradable such as oil, gas, copper, maize etc.

 

Men have harems because women are a commodity to be picked up and put down as desired. US Mormons do it too.

As for toxic masculinity I believe it refers to behaviours such as hazing women, assaulting women, using date rape drugs, having a total lack of respect for any girl or woman. It is clear that not all men go around harassing women but I don't know any woman who hasn't been harassed by males at some time in her life.

Feminists have worked hard for decades to improve the rights of women in society, industry and the law but still they get beaten, raped, molested, murdered on a daily basis. In the US it's 3 a day. In the UK it's 1 every 3 days. Then we have work and play - women still paid less than men, women promoted less than men and facing harassment of other kinds in toxic male environments.

As for the BBC, it is an equal opportunities employer, hence the number of women on radio, TV and behind the scenes as well as men and women from non-white ethnic groups and people with handicaps such as being blind or needing a wheelchair. It doesn't get all its focus or news reporting right but it's doing well offering opportunity.

There is more to women than egg production and, for the sake of accuracy, some manage more than one a month or we wouldn't have fraternal twin, triplets and so on.

Women have brains - intellect, intelligence, insights, feelings, emotions, creativity - which work differently from male brains so see prblems and find solutions in different often ingenious ways. Women also have physical strength which should not be ignored - endurance, high pain thresholds and muscular capacity - but are past masters at how to maximise performance and minimise effort. They have to be.

Depriving women and girls of education, health care, opportunity means that half the population is functioning below capacity because of male stupidity, prejudice and fear. Given that means the remaining 50% on the population is not all gifted with intellect or kindness it's no surprise the world is in the mess it is.

I see that Mr Trump is currently throwing a tantrum because his carefully packed Supreme Court didn't agree with him over tariffs.

 

And it has been suggested that all the illegal tariffs need to be repaid to the industries that have had to pay them. That'll be fun.
