@Fat Controller, of course people fall along a spectrum from promiscuous to abstaining, and reliable contraception has moved the parameters somewhat, but I do think women and men are primed by evolution to want different things from sex.

My guess is men who pay for sex think along the lines of "what's the problem - this woman has made herself available and I am giving her a reward for doing so". Woman, on the other hand, may not see it as quite such a simple transaction, even if at the time they accept it at face value. In later yrs, they may feel they were used and did not get what they hoped for from the exchange. (This is assuming they consented. Rape is a different matter, of course.)

@shiney, of course, there are many monogamous men. My father worked for a large corporation and frequently went on business trips abroad. In certain countries it was absolutely standard for him to be offered a "companion" for the night. He always politely turned this down, to the astonishment of his male hosts.

Yes, agree my dear. And add to it Globally women need to value strongly their biological contribution to humankind and not put up with any servitude environments. Looking at it logically it takes a heap more women needed to make babies than males. Women Power.

The Pope has politely declined and will be spending July 4th on Lamepdusa, the Italian island which is the forst port of call for many migrants crossing from North Africa.

The Pope has made migration and immigrants a key focus for the RC church and has publicly denounced Trump/Vance policies as cruel and inhuman and instructed his bishops in the US to denounce ICE and co.

Women bearing 5,6,7 or more children are not unusual even now. Not all will survive to become adults particularly in countries where contraception aid, maternal and general health care is poor or non existent as well as a poor economy. Men can obviously father many times that number and it can be somewhat easier to walk away if so inclined. Not all fall into that category tho.
I still find it quite astonishing that in this day and age abortion is still prohibited in places. Rather like the Assisted Dying saga which is still ongoing here. In both cases, it's your body and therefore should be your choice. No one needs to be told what is best for them in either circumstance.
