I think next yr I will owe 80p in total. I'm hoping they will let me pay it in instalments to spread the burden!

They say it is to encourage you to put the money into stocks and shares ISA's but I think it is simply being reduced to get some more tax. Stocks and shares ISA's usually do much better than cash but you need a reliable company to manage them for you.

I was surprised how little attention the media gave that change after the last budget. Again, it's something that affects those with modest savings rather than the wealthy, who can manage their money to avoid tax.

Since retirement I'm in no position to put more than 12000 a year into an ISA:dunno:

Come to think of it I wasn't able to even when I was working. :roflol:

We manage our own stocks and shares ISAs. Much more fun!

Meta is thinking about building facial recognition softwear into its glasses. This would mean someone wearing them could get the identity of every stranger they passed in the street.

The whole idea is ridiculously dangerous. The fact they are even thinking about it shows these tech companies need to be under far stricter control at the development stage of potential products, with oversight by some sort of global ethics panel.

If its anything like finger print recognition it will be about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

A Meta version is likely to be very comprehensive though. They have endless money to throw at developing it and their profits will rely on it working well.

The biscuit jar. I try not to eat all at once, and use it to reward The Child after hard labour. :blue thumb:

I have never understood the appeal of a red velvet cake. It's just a basic, boring sponge witha smattering of cocoa powder and red food colouring.

Yes but with cream cheese icing .
I've tried some cherry bakewell and some salted caramel hot cross buns and they were both lovely. Next time I'm in town I'll have to go to m & s .
Does anyone know where to the cheese ones are from :th scifD36:. I think they would be good for a late breakfast.

I'm not a fan of messing with things but last year Lidl did apple and cinnamon hot cross buns which were rather lovely!
