That's why Trump has the job of President, isn't it? The Democrats were unable to get their act together enough to find an electable candidate.

But we know how the boys in blue treat other "sensitive" things.

I would have thought, these days, all these places were covered by CCTV, however basic, and the truth would be visible within minutes, no?

CCTV inside a polling station? Given that most of them are held in schools, libraries, community centres etc, I'd suggest that is doubtful. Equally, I'd not be overly comfortable with CCTV operating in a polling station, at least where they could see the voting booths - your vote is a private, confidential thing and there should be no opportunity for anyone to get even close to working out who you voted for.

Our votes are done in the town hall. There is CCTV in the entrance lobby and some of the rooms.

I'd suggest that is the minority of cases - almost invariably around here it is a school that is used.

We used to get kicked out of the school hall on election days and they also used the church hall near my house.
On my current estate they use a community cafe.

I open up two polling stations in the village halls of two villages. No CCTV.

I was always fed up as no school I ever went to was used as a polling station.
Mostly they shut on the day around here if used.

Surely postal votes have the potential to be influenced by "family"?

They do, again they tightened these up some years ago regarding ID on applying for a postal vote; as some people were applying for the whole families postal votes to be sent to them. Now each individual has to provide a signature.

This family of two do postal voting. There is a great deal of “family voting” involved. It is largely composed of one or other of us saying “Which of these useless buggers do we vote for this time?” and the other groaning.

You should have to explain why you are unable to get to a polling station in order to get a postal vote in my opinion.
It seems to have become just the lazy way of voting.
If you have a good reason, fine, if not either don't turn up or get off your backside.

I now do postal voting. I got annoyed with having to open up the polling stations and not being able to cast my vote whilst there because it wasn't the official starting time. I open then before 6 a.m. and voting is not allowed until 7 a.m.
