    Kandy,

    You were so close at Cronk-y-Voddy (should be pronouced Cronk-er-Vothy), I live in Kirk Michael just a couple of miles up the road. I moved to the island 19 years ago from Essex and you have to drag me screaming and kicking to get me back there.

    Couldn't do without cars on the island, public transport is next to useless. The one and only Tesco's on the island is in Douglas, 14 miles from where I live.

    It is expensive to get to and from the island, we are away at the end of June, it's costing us nearly £300 on the boat for car and two people. My daughter is going away during TT, that's costing her £500 for the same. Prices are hiked even moreso then.

    I'm sitting here looking out of the window and it's a beautiful sunny day. You know what? It's worth it!

      Hi Sheal,

      My apologies I was also uncertain of your gender on here and for spelling Cronky-y-Voddy wrong{I was trying to write it without looking at the map book first :oopss:}

      We stayed in a self catering cottage near the No 11 marker for the TT racesin 1995 and the old couple had a collie dog which attacked our dog and left us all quiet shook up:mad:.We remember Kirk Michael as it was just along the road although we used to go either to Peel or Ramsey to get supplies as there wasn't a Tesco's in those days.We went on trip up to Snaefell on the Electric Tram Railway which was enjoyable and I remember it being very hot that year and my trainers got stuck when the tarmac on the roads melted :D

      My young brother used to go over to see the TT each year but lives in France now.I would love to live on the Isle of Wight and every time I see the island on the TV,I get this very strong feeling that i need to be over there but Mr Kandy says the Ferry is too expensive if you want to come back to the mainland,but as i said if i lived over there i wouldn't be bothered with coming back over to the mainland.:mute::D

      Sorry gone right off track of the main topic now :oopss:

        Thanks again Kandy and Gemini,

        Unless somebody says something that leads you to a gender it's down to guess work.
        Perhaps our sex is something else that should be posted as standard along with location etc. It would stop any embarrassment.

        The PC brigade would jump up and down on that one, because men and women are officially identical in every way nowadays so gender is an redundant concept.

        Politically correct or not Clueless it would still make life less embarrasing as you can see from what's happened above.

        I know. I was joking, but unfortunately the smiles have vanished so I didn't know how to indicated that my post was tongue in cheek.

        It's ok Clueless. I'm missing those smilies too. They make a difference when you're trying to put something across, our friends on here can see how to take it. Smile!
