Ok so I have a few plants around the garden, and few I've seen around I wondered if anyone had any idea as to what they were.

I've had to take the photo's on my phone and transfer them over so quality isn't brilliant I'm afraid.

This first one I noticed in a pot of my friends in Lincolnshire. She planted the seeds in a large pot in a very sunny spot. They have been in bud for quite a while, and over the weekend we were rewarded with this beautiful purple/pink striped flower. The plants are quite compact, and I would say about 25cm high at the moment, and seem to be growing upwards as opposed to trailing.

The next one is a low growing flowering plant, almost looks like some kind of meadow flower, and again it was growing in my friends garden in Lincolnshire. The have a few meadows nearby so I'm wondering if it's something that's seeded as a result of this. It looks a little like a white buttercup with purple spots as you can see below. I tried to take a photo of the foliage but my camera isnt brilliant and there were some fallen rose pettles.

I spotted this while we were walking the dogs in some nearby fields at my friends in Lincolnshire. It was growing along the edge of a large field. The flowers are very tiny, and again my camera doesnt help. The leaves were very similar to a viola, and the flowers looked like tiny white viola flowers with a yellow spot. I was inclined to think this was some kind of wild viola?

Ok, this was bought for the front garden about 4 or 5 years ago. I'm unsure as to what the name of this rose is, and it's really bugging me! I've had a look around for it, and nothing seems to match it. I thought it was 'Blue for You' for a little while, but when I looked at some at the gardeners world show the colour seemed more blue than the vivid purple you can see below.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

    Thanks :):)

Thanks, I will have a look and google it ! I just love the colour, and the scent is so wonderfully sweet.

I did have a clump of the one in pic 2 and 3 my friend dug out of the garden for me, but alas Monday's hot weather+boot of my car+ traffic = dead :( .

Thanks Louise D and Kandy, having a look at the images online, it's definitely 'Rhapsody in Blue.' I will have a wander around some nurseries over the weekend and see if I can find another one, as I'm looking for one for another area with a purple theme.

Silversurfer, yes number 1 is definitely Godetia! I have never heard of them before, but you learn something new every day :) One for my list for next year.

Silversurfer, Madahhlia, daitheplant- number 2 and 3 spot on Nemophila Maculata :). I imagine my friend bought these seeds (godetia and nemophila) at the gardeners world live show last year, as they were all £1 each :) so we always stock up for the next year . They have some through Thompson and Morgan if anyone is interested.

And thanks Kandy as silversurfer again, was pretty sure it was just a wild type but thought I would ask. Anyone any idea if this is something you can buy anywhere or is it something I will just have to appreciate on my walks :)?

          Thanks again.
