With all of the Vinca Major long since gone new things are appearing. Good or bad I'm not sure. Can you tell me please what I've got here?

1. Looks like Sambucus nigra. Common name Elder.

2. Maybe a wild Violet. Not completely sure though

3. Looks like Lamium. Common name dead nettle.

4. Maybe Mysotis. Common name Forget me not.

Don't know what 2 is but agree with Silver Surfer about the others.

Especially Silver Surfer for the weeds link - I think I may be using this a lot.
1. Elder - I don't want anything 4m-6m tall there so that's going!
2. Wild Violet vs Lesser Celandine. They do look very similar. My leaves shape do look more like the latter though my leaves are matt not shiny like the LC leaves appear in the photos. I could wait until they bloom but I read that violets are highly invasive and regarded as weeds so if they are I should get rid asap. Lesser celandine I would want to keep? Is there any other way to be sure apart from waiting?
3. Deadnettle - so I should dig up
4. Forget me not - lovely so I'll keep

If your pic is recent, then you can rule out Ranunculus ficaria, common name lesser celandine.
This is a spring flower, with shiney leaves. By June every trace of it has gone. Just bare soil.
Leaving underneath the soil the fat white tuberous root things that will emerge again next spring.
Impossible to eradicate .. just one white tuber, if left behind, will form a new plant!
But as it is summer dormant I do not mind. Flowers are colourful.

I am not happy with Violet suggestion either!

 

Hi, I'm pretty sure no.2 is not celendine (a plant I love by the way :thumb and I don't think it's a wild vioilet either, the leaves look too 'soft' and slightly downy. I do recognise it, just can't put a name to it (not much use I know :D), I had it my old garden along the hedge, if its the same one its a biennial.

I took the photo 3 hours ago so that seems to rule out Lesser Celandine I guess. It has grown quite quickly over the past few weeks if that helps. Is there anything else I can look at or do to help narrow it down?

Not sure about no.3 being a Deadnettle, looks more like Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) to me.
Sure way to tell is to rub the leaves between your fingers, if it smells of lemon it's Lemon Balm.
