They are not reporting this over here but there is a new deadly strain emerging.

FAO Raises Alarm on Resurgence of Bird Flu, Articles | THISDAY LIVE

That sounds like 100% fatality rate to me:OUCH:

Even Steven King's end of the world flu wasn't that bad.

yea right .... it's a yearly thing ... they have too much bird flu vaccine from last year that people refused to use ... so instead of dumping it, they will now scare the public into getting the vaccine as it's big bucks for the pharmaceutical companies and those involved behind the scenes like Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the plonkers

I'm anti-vacine as I have read too much about this from people involved in the 'lucrative' pharmaceutical 'industry, and from 'whiste blowers' .... it's a hot topic on conspiracy forums

and don't get me started on the 'cervical cancer' vaccine either, I refused that my daughter have the vaccine .... I spoke my mind at a school meeting, .... some teachers and parents looked at me 'funny', but some parents who were medical doctors or nurses gave me the thumbs up as they too refused their daughters reciveing the vaccine

swine flu... bird flu ... all the same .... google vaccine for last year, and you will see it's a yearly thing promopted by the big pharmecetical companies and governments

soon, it will be on BBC urging people to have the 'jab' ... like last year, and the year before and the year before and the year before

but if you are concerned, and feel happy to have the jab, don't let me hold you back

Had the Swine flu last year, not very nice. With the added bonus of not getting the new roof finished before the storms came & took it off for me.

OH had piggy flu last Christmas. It really was very unpleasant. Still, I'm told that this new variant of avian flu has so far only affected humans who have had direct contact with poultry etc. it's yet to spread from person to person.

I know this is going to hurt, but I tend to agree with the Dim one. The Parmaceutical companies, as usual, are scaremongering just to sell their products. How many people where forecast to die from bird flu last year? 60,000, wasn`t it. How many actully died? About 20.

            No Dai,

That was Swine Flu last year, worldwide 1.5 million people were infected, me included, out of those 25,000 people died. Thats a 1 in 60 mortalitly rate which could have been much nearer the 60,000 estimate if nothing was done.

Bird Flu has a 1 in 1 mortality rate.
