I have a new Japanese Cherry tree in my garden (planted beginning of summer) .. there is summat up with it.:cry3:

The leaves look like a slug has walked across them with paint on his feet and they are all holey (not in the biblical sense).:heehee:

I don't think it is that canker stuff cos the bark is fine and I can't see any creepy crawlies on the leaves but they are deff not very well.:(

What is up with it ?? anyone know ..:help:

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Daisy Duke.

Sounds like woodlice or leaf miners.

It also sounds like my caterpillars (see thread here)
They attack my Prunus cerasifera and P. 'Spring Glow'.

My pleasure, probably not worth doing anything at this end of the year as the leaves will be falling soon (unless you are in New Zeland of course)

Been lots of insect attacks on trees this year due to messed up weather, seen scale insects the size of small If you get the same problem in the spring, a couple of sprays with Provado should sort it out, always read the lable:)
