Cauliflowers

I am growing cauliflowers in my raised bed but they are starting to go a brownie colour with black spots on,do you think it might be that im under watering them,over watering them or is this something else.They have a frame round them with netting on so i dont think its butterfly lavea.Please could someone help.:(

Its the actual cauli not the leaves jwk.

 

Mrs Scrungee has just tried to buy some more Borax for cleaning, and was told the EU have banned it. Apparently it's now only available to buy online from China. (in addition to ensuring your cauliflower curds are white, it also helps whiten socks in the wash)

 

As well as cauliflowers other brassicas such as swede benefit from boron, as it is a trace element you don't need a lot of it. I use a sprinkle of borax every other year on the winter brassicas, helps to give tight brussels. It can also be found in products like Miracle Gro and Phostrogen. You need to look out for "trace elements" on the packet.
