Wilko's Bulb Sale

Popped in to Wilko's today and they've just started a sale on their bulbs; the offer being 3 packets for the price of 2 (you get the cheapest packet free).

Didn't see anything that I wanted but it may be worth a look for anyone wanting a few bulbs :thumb:

Yes they do in fact I think a large majority are here in the south

There are a few stores inside the M25, but there isnt one anywhere near me.

I pass through Kingston several times a week though.

 

Melinda if you can't get to a Wilkos your local pound shop will be selling bulbs.

I got 3 for 2 packs of Tulips last week from Wilkos , in fact I got the last packs out of one or two boxes they are selling like the proverbial hot cakes ! The whole country will be awash with spring flowers next year !! :D
The grass roadside verges near my house are all planted with crocus and daffs. They use a special machine to plant thousands and thousands of them. Its a fantastic site when you see the crocus flowering in late winter and you know spring is around the corner
PS just to put a damper on all this hapiness and joy - early dark gloomy cold wet nights from tomorrow :(

I was just wondering where poundshops get their stock from and the quality?

When I finally got around to planting Poundland alliums and tulips bought a month or so back and stored correctly, about a third were unusable.

That may be standard wastage or a result of me not planting soon enough, but I was kind of miffed.

 

They have been having a sale on other things recently too, We stocked up on pest control, and fertiliser recently (a few pics here Stash in the Attic ~ Alternative Eden )

Have got much of what we will use next year at 50-75% off

The poundshops do pile them high and sell them cheap. I have never bought any from a pound shop . I think that Wilkos price to quality takes some beating.

Made the mistake of rushing in and NOT my usual checking
Guy in front of me at the check out B&M Had four pots two daffs two tulips about a dozen bulbs in each £1 a pot (they were on shelves outside the front door)

So I left my stuff, and went back outside picked up two tulips two daffs
Back in with rest of stuff and put them through the check out
Got home, and one was sealed and contained the stated amount SIX bulbs on the box, the other three had, had the lid seals broken and contained two bulbs each
Now I know where he got his other dozen bulbs from :-( me

My own fault for being so eager
