Xafinity, OK we will get some cash out to you soonest
ME, Well would you like to know who I am that is calling
Xafinity, Lol would be a good idea
    Me, Gives details

several days and several calls the same, and me the same answer WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW WHO IT IS THAT IS CALLING YOU

None of the calls received the said action

    Today
I called them Thursday morning, yeak OK will get the documents we need signed in the post tonight, but I have already done that twice, and you have returned to me the birth certs of me and my wife, my marriage certificate, and confirmed my bank details TWICE
Xafinity, oh well we will send the form again this evening, just complete them

So I got my finacial adviser with me and called the manager not the monkey
    Xafinity how can I help
Well I am having a problem with my pension, Oh what is that etc
Would you speak to my finacial advisor, yeah put him on
Me, Well would you like to know who I am, and take me through security so you can discuss it
Manager yes OK, What is your date of birth OK put him on
Me Well would you like my name and address or National Insurance number. to know WHO I AM and access my details

FIA more professional tore him up for rags

Err no they have not, I will speak to my advisor about this and send one personally myself now

FIA several questions, Xafinity I will call you back
    FIA when
    Xafinity ten minutes,
FIA ok I will allow ten minutes

NINE MINUTES Xafinity, to FIA BLAH BLAH
Xafinity he should have had the details in March not our fault
FIA Well you have had his accounts since Oct 2011 and I would have expected you to have them with my client by March
Xafinity Oh yes it is us sorry, I will get this sent out tonight, then he can return them by post
FIA, BUT Monday is a bank holiday, he will not get them until Tuesday then post return We usually do this by FAX He was due payment two weeks ago
Oh yes FAX I will do this first thing tomorrow when the comp has calculated his entitlement Then you can confirm the details and send it back, mind we are closed until Tuesday as it is a bank holiday

I will believe it when I see it and have the cash in my pocket
    Meanwhile BP is around 180/95

Sounds like the usual bureaucratic incompetence. :wallbanging:

On Tuesday tell them that the media have shown an interest in this fiasco but you've asked them to hold off until you hear from Xafinity - or the financial ombudsman.

No idea where my reply went
This morning first thing, email from them with the amount to be paid, and when
Documens emailed signed and returned payment on Tuesday as it is a BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY
I will belive it when it plonks into the account :-)

Just why paying for a FIA gets it done in a ten minute call When I have called continuously for four weeks and said no more than he did, I have no idea

      Will post IF it arrives

It's ridiculous but is the way of the world . I make calls for a lot of people. I put on a posh voice, say I'm their advisor, and use long words and the job gets done! :gaah:

I hope you get it on tuesday Jack. I bet they have always taken your contributions on the dot over the years, now when they have to actually do something they treat you like this :(

What an incompetent lazy and inconsiderate company, if anyone from Xafinity is reading this thread then I hope you are suitably ashamed, it's time to wake up and start treating your customers properly. Remember there are plenty of pension administration companies out there vying for work, when the contract comes up for renewal with the govt don't be surprised if it doesn't get renewed.

Very often if you are a member of a trade union when you retire you're entitled to free retired membership and can get them on the case in situations like this.

Oh I do have legal advisors, both in my current union, and HMRC ex employee,
The FIA already has my investments, and off course this new business

I really did not think I would have to resort to it, so DIY until after two weeks getting no where (I said paid for FIA to sort it, well not as a bill but we all know you get nowt for nowt so it is costed into their work)

It was intially just a reminder phone call, as out of four pensions, three had sent me four weeks before due, what I would be paid and when
When it got to two days before I retired I thought I would just phone and remind them, only no action was taken over the weeks, so had to call in PRO Advisors

I was quite stressed with this pension from first aquireing it, Visions of a Robert Maxwell. over ten companies had taken it over, and each time stating the ORIGINAL company had been given a Pension Holiday ? as they could not meet the payments into it,
Then I was uplifted when eight months ago, I got a letter saying what and when I would be paid, I sent in all the required documents both self and wifes original birth certs, wedding cert, account to be paid into, all confirmed and returned
So my original call was just to see it would be as said, as no info like the others four weeks prior to payment

Just thankfull I am not dependant on it to pay a mortgage or even worse provide sustinance. but it is rather a large amount of money to myself

Thanks all, I will report as soon as it is actually received

          Hiya Jack.

Reading your posts on this reminds me how fragile pensions can be. I have a substantial deferred pension, and all things being equal, there should be no problem. The 'scheme' does however have a massive black hole, around £2 billion?

One SHOULD be able to count on ones pension, and those that administer it, hmmm.

I hope you get it sorted.

          Cheers...Freddy

Yes it is sorted, I was getting nowhere, so I got an IFA he called
I will not go into all the incompetency
I gave them permission to deal with the IFA
They told him I had to fill in forms which they would send on Monday
He reminded them Monday was a bank holiday and they were shut
Oh yes we will send them on Tuesday then
He reminded them that he deals with faxes, send it now by fax, he will confirme identity and signature and send it back
Oh yes we err can do that
            He by 1600
            Oh yes
He 1600 after that I will phone you with the authorities and some ofrec thingy
            1550 fax arrived
I signed he sent it back
Confirmed payment would be made Monday
IFA ADVISED AGAIN MONDAY WAS A BANK HOL

            OH YES TUESDAY THEN

I was away on holiday that week, but went to the Hole in the Wall at 10:00 ZILCH

Checked Hole in the Wall again at 12:00 bingo £50k in there :love30::dancy:

The trouble I had with my pensions at the beginning was not with Xafinity but the Tax Offices. I had SIX different Tax Offices writing to me for months for details, information, etc, and all making their own estimations as to what tax was liable. There was no co-ordination between any of them and so I ended up paying a lot more tax than needed. I wrote to all of them in a round robin letter suggesting that since there was no co-ordination between them and therefore I was being over taxed surely only one Tax Office could deal with my pensions so that a single proper estimate could be done. I had no reply for months, despite repeated letters to them. Then I had letters from all of them full of gobbly gook basically saying that my pensions had to be dealt with by the different Tax Offices. But now I find that they have given all the tax dealings over to the Tax Office in Glasgow, and they have written to me saying that last year I paid £557 too much in tax, which they refund, and are looking into the previous two years! The wheels grind slowly!!:snork:

On reflection by being very very clever
The front desk guys are not as we would think, thick dummies, they are very skilled at being idiots
The longer they can keep the holding money in their company the more interest is accrued, thus a bigger bonus just for appearing stupid

The quetion now is do I have one damn good hooley for two years, blow the lot, or do I invest it hoping I do not die before ten years is up

I can answer that myself, as I have always been brought up, to not buy BEFORE you can pay for it in full, Thus the dream of a quality car was squashed long ago, so no longer yearn for one,
I have always taken good holidays usually cruises, so I will continue with that as my luxury once or twice a year, the rest I will live on raddishes, and cabbage, with my B&W NO NOT BMW B&W Portable tele

I am a simple man with simple tastes, that were drummed into me from the beginning so I aint gonna change now am I
