They'll mean you are completely lost, and spending hours driving round and round London trying to find your way to absolutely anywhere else.

Well it all starts on Monday....................

Some lanes marked with the Olympic logo become no go lanes for the likes of you and me. They have already changed the phasing of some traffic lights, wont be long before they do them all.

Over a month ago the 'powers that be' painted one part of the A30 with a sign which said 'this lane for Olympics vehicles only'. What they forgot was that it would be another 8 weeks or more before the Olympics.
The road remained painted with the logo but they now had to erect another sign telling people to ignore the instruction.....sad..............!

              That's quite common.
They have portable electric message signs up saying that anyone can use it until the 16th July, which is tomorrow

What made me laugh was that someone commissioned a survey that concluded those of us in the North of the UK believed that the Olympics would mainly benefit those people based in the London area!
I wonder how much that "Nugget" of intellect cost to discover?
10 minutes talking to people on Northumberland St, Newcastle would have goven the same result.

For those that may be in the London area, a wee heads up - in addition to the 'Games Lanes' going live as of tomorrow, all of the traffic signals across London will be put onto modified phasings so you may well see extended red times at many junctions as the lights are effectively used to 'gate' traffic

Ahh! But we wouldn't believe you unless a big survey had confirmed it :nonofinger:. Of course, a 'big survey' means that the numbers on the bill were big and not the numbers, or variety, of people polled. I don't think that the people doing the survey could even find 'The North' :WINK1:. What? Me cynical!! Never!!!! :heehee:

                Thanks for the info :dbgrtmb:

Although we go up to London fairly regularly we shan't be going until it's all over.
